Our singer acted like a lunatic towards our Bass player, who is the most chill and humble person ever, so we, bass and both guitars, are striking out on our own. We have a show booked on the 18th. The singer didn't book it, I did, so even though the band name is hers, she will not be welcome at that show. We will have a new name within the next few days. I (guitar) will be handling vocals from here on out. Our drummer will hopefully join us, but he's very much attached to the singer for a place to live so we don't believe we can have full faith that he'll be on board with us. We need a drummer for this show.
Style is eclectic metal leaning strongly towards true Thrash (i.e. Megadeth, not Municipal Waste or some shred garbage). The setlist for the show is as follows: Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction, Judas Priest - Tyrant, an 8:00min+ original tune of ours with a very Angel Witch meets Slayer vibe, Bathory - A Fine Day To Die, Iron Maiden - Charlotte The Harlot and closing with Angel Witch by Angel Witch. We chose these songs upon deciding to ditch the crazy singer primarily for their simplicity because we have such a short window of time to practice with you for this show. If you choose to stay with us after this show, we will be playing mostly originals with a Megadeth, Angel Witch, Evile and Xentrix type feel to them.
We are very serious metalheads, not into new school crossover thrash at all. We take metal seriously and never play joke songs. We don't think there's anything funny about metal. We're here to make a real musical statement that real thrash is back. This is not beer and razors type thrash at all. We are the real deal.
If you have your own kit, are available in Boston the evening of August 18th and can play these songs please contact me immediately.
P.S. We wouldn't normally play so many covers, as we actually had 4 originals with the only cover tune being Tyrant, but the lyrics to those songs belong to the singer, and none of us like the tunes at all. I saw this bullshit coming from her (since metal chicks are so often lunatics, especially the poser ones) and deliberately wrote songs with extremely simple, cliché and perhaps even borderline poser riffs, just in case she flipped out, which she has. So we are letting her take those three other songs, because if she tries to play them without us she will probably either get laughed at, or get popular with hipsters because those ironic bastards have no taste.

Our singer acted like a lunatic towards our Bass player, who is the most chill and humble person ever, so we, bass and both guitars, are striking out on our own. We have a show booked on the 18th. The singer didn't book it, I did, so even though the band name is hers, she will not be welcome at that show. We will have a new name within the next few days. I (guitar) will be handling vocals from here on out. Our drummer will hopefully join us, but he's very much attached to the singer for a place to live so we don't believe we can have full faith that he'll be on board with us. Style is eclectic metal leaning strongly towards true Thrash (i.e. Megadeth, not Municipal Waste or some shred garbage). The setlist for the show is as follows: Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction, Judas Priest - Tyrant, an 8:00min+ original tune of ours with a very Angel Witch meets Slayer vibe, Bathory - A Fine Day To Die, Iron Maiden - Charlotte The Harlot and closing with Angel Witch by Angel Witch. We chose these songs upon deciding to ditch the crazy singer primarily for their simplicity because we have such a short window of time to practice with you for this show. If you choose to stay with us after this show, we will be playing mostly originals with a Megadeth, Angel Witch, Evile and Xentrix type feel to them.
We are very serious metalheads, not into new school crossover thrash at all. We take metal seriously and never play joke songs. We don't think there's anything funny about metal. We're here to make a real musical statement that real thrash is back. This is not beer and razors type thrash at all. We are the real deal.
If you have your own kit, are available in Boston the evening of August 18th and can play these songs please contact me immediately.
P.S. We wouldn't normally play so many covers, as we actually had 4 originals with the only cover tune being Tyrant, but the lyrics to those songs belong to the singer, and none of us like the tunes at all. I saw this bullshit coming from her (since metal chicks are so often lunatics, especially the poser ones) and deliberately wrote songs with extremely simple, cliché and perhaps even borderline poser riffs, just in case she flipped out, which she has. So we are letting her take those three other songs, because if she tries to play them without us she will probably either get laughed at, or get popular with hipsters because those ironic bastards have no taste.

Dana and I dated for a couple of weeks, then I broke up with him... We remained friends and played in kw together... We dated again fore another week or so, but then I decided I was moving out to western ma, so we broke up again. When I reconnected with my true love, who's name I will not mention, I decided to stay and backed out on the move... Whatever, there's a lot of small immature details in the middle, but basically, dana freaked out and quit the band, then went and told my two guitar players, alastair and brian that I'm a psycho and a liar and I treated him like shit, etc. This is when my guitar players posted a craigslist ad, slandering my reputation as a person and a singer completely. I didn't even know about this ad and was arranging practices with them, in which they responded that they were going to pick my drummer and I up thursday and practice, without me knowing that any of this was going on... ALL OVER SOME PUSSY, right?!
My guitar players didn't even ask me or care about my side of the story before saying fucked up shit about me on craigslist and acting COMPLETELY two faced!
I just suggest that you don't work with these people unless you want to experience lack of communication and drama.

Once upon a time every band you think of as thrash was called speed metal, and every band you think as crossover was called thrash. And cross over was just a term to describe a punk or metal band going to the other side. Was all about marketing, thrash sounds cooler than speed, but this was an after-the-fact switch.

Thrash was first. Metallica was the first band I heard of, but most of the bay area metal bands at the time were calling themselves "thrash". When Mustaine formed megadeth, the point was to push it further, faster, and more aggressive - that's where the term "speed metal" came in.
Crossover was when bay area THRASH and PUNK mixed - like the example of DRI, or even a band like Suicidal Tendencies. These were the bands refered to as "crossover".

"thrash" was what people called hardcore before that word caught on back in the early 80s. Metalheads must have stolen it at some point. People still use thrash as shorthard for "hardcore punk" since the word hardcore seem to be synonymous with brocore MTV level garbage now.

I grew up in the 80's hardcore scene around here. I never once heard the term "thrash" used to describe hardcore punk.
I heard it used by Skaters to describe pretty much any music they could skate to, which is actually where (and why) the term was born. But outside THRASH, I've never heard it used to describe anything but THRASH - IE the entire 1984 bay area metal movement. Metallica, Megadeth, Annihilator, Forbidden, Exodus, Anthrax, etc....
Maybe now, retrospectively, people like to use the term differently (much like "hardcore" has been bastardized) but then and there, it's what defined the genre. And I will definitely go on record that it all started with Dave Mustaine. Before Dave, THRASH was just british heavy metal.

Then I do agree with you, I just wasn't understanding you clearly. And CW is the album that ended it for me too. I couldn't get into Risk or anything else they did until Dave disbanded the band. I do like the newer stuff too, though, like United Abomination and Endgame. And the other one, who's name escapes me now.

These were the musicians I had chose to play with me in a band I created called Killer Wail. We were really good and creative (in my opinion) and I was really proud and excited over this, as I haven't been in a band since Padded Hell (3 years ago), and have never been in a band this good.
Dana and I dated for a couple of weeks, then I broke up with him... We remained friends and played in kw together... We dated again fore another week or so, but then I decided I was moving out to western ma, so we broke up again. When I reconnected with my true love, who's name I will not mention, I decided to stay and backed out on the move... Whatever, there's a lot of small immature details in the middle, but basically, dana freaked out and quit the band, then went and told my two guitar players, alastair and brian that I'm a psycho and a liar and I treated him like shit, etc. This is when my guitar players posted a craigslist ad, slandering my reputation as a person and a singer completely. I didn't even know about this ad and was arranging practices with them, in which they responded that they were going to pick my drummer and I up thursday and practice, without me knowing that any of this was going on... ALL OVER SOME PUSSY, right?!
My guitar players didn't even ask me or care about my side of the story before saying fucked up shit about me on craigslist and acting COMPLETELY two faced!
I just suggest that you don't work with these people unless you want to experience lack of communication and drama.
