if florida is still there next month, it's just the start of hurricane season. hopefully it'll be underwater before the end of the week.

Filling up your tank before prices rocket further will just make them more money. If for three days no one bought gas and walked, used busses, or rode a bike than the price of gas would reduce drastically. And that doesn't mean everyone fill thier tanks before that three days, it means stop using it.
The hippies were right

Fucking greedy people man, I have never felt so lucky that I live 3 miles from my job! I really have a hard time beleiving that this increase is based solely on the huricane. By the way, did anyone watch that FX Movie Oil Storm.................................

someone needs a kleenex to wipe all the tears away.. I love how anonymous posters use such big words like "fuckstick"...

xmikex I heard just a minute ago that the prices will stay up for at least the NFL season if not a month or so longer... it's kind of funny they used that as a timeline but that's what they said... In Atlanta gas is at $6.07 a gallon!

Driving back from Ontario yesterday on the NY Thruway gas prices were 2.62-2.65 the entire ride home. Pulled off of I-90 in Lee, MA and regular was at 3.00. Fucking Massachusetts.

On the news today they said some of the pipelines that were down are operational now, and prices will return to normal gradually.
 _________________________________
[Sep 1,2005 8:07pm - brian_dc ""]
they'll be "normal" which is still going to be abnormally high when you look at it on a long-term perspective. This was a good excuse to jack up prices so that the drop down to what would usually be insane will seem like a blessing to us.

it's all headgames

Yeah I don't see how a disaster that was supposed to result in a 15 cent price increase resulted in some stations jumping 80 cents over night. It's not like a hurricane hit the middle east, Venezuela, Russia, Alaska, and Canada halting production worldwide. This is just an excuse to get to 4 bucks a gallon before the holiday travel season.
