well, i always found hendrix overrated, so that means nothing to me.
but as far as i'm concerned, Thorogood had more skill and personality than all three members of ZZ combined.

srv and jimi hendrix are two entirely different players in my book. SRV's strength was in his tone and how hard he played, Jimi's was in his innovative song structures and use of effects. Both came from the same roots though so I can see how you can compare the two, but I still think they both have their own styles that warrant liking them both.

but no, i just mean i think he is overrated, in that he probably would not have the same reputation, were he white and right handed.
it's just an opinion, but back then, there was still a ridiculous amount of public racism, and i think Hendrix got alot of (maybe too much) credit for being a black dude in predominantly white rock music scene.
plus, people from that era had a strange fascination with left handed guitarists.....at least that's what i've gathered from people i've known/met who were around (and fans of his) when he was "in his prime"
