I am really stoked to be doing this gig. My finger is still pretty weak so cut me some slack as far as our set time and all that. We should, of course, be doing a full set, but i gotta not push myself totally. I am healing fast but I shouldn't be doing strength exercises till next week, which means I can play a bunch of our songs I just can't shred out as much as usual.
For the most part, no one will notice and the rest of my fingers have gotten a lot stronger to make up for it. The tendon that connects the pinky also connects the ring finger and occasionally stretching that hurts, but I am doing better and better as each day goes by and my range of motion goes up and up. Thanks for all the support and I'll be glad to get back into action!!!

ah...must be tough to play without being able to do proper stretch exercises regularly, I commend you...and hope that you are careful because it's way too easy to permanently damage your hands with this guitar stuff

yeah it's weird cause I tell people that don't play guitar and they are like "Well, you have 3 other fingers, you can just play with those!" and they don't see that the pinky is an extension finger...you know for like going out of position. I've seen you play Bri and you know what I mean...you go to do, say, 4 or 5 frets from your position you use your pinky and I instinctively go to do that and of course it either hurts or I have to work 2x as hard at the moment. And then trying to do that with my ring is cumbersome and effects my pointer more. Then when that is unable to stretch I have to move out of position and then BACK into position.
Good news is that should be all worked out by the 26th...By then I am in strength exercises and such and I can basically build back up to the way I was before.

definitely, technique has to become habit so you aren't always thinking about it...and when you've got an obstacle like that it means a consistent pain train without really really focusing on what your hands are up to all the time (and where's the fun in that)

Campus Directions:
Mapquest will lead you to college rd which is off RT. 119. When you make a left/right onto college rd keep straight until you get to a stop sign. Go straight through the Stop Sign and follow the rd. (its a one way) until you get to a huge white bubble protruding from the ground (thats our athletic center). Park in that area (there's a parking lot right by the bubble) because the Northwoods community room is right across from the bubble. Its pretty much a classroom. There are double doors that lead down a small hallway with stairs. Go up the stairs and bang a right. Its all pretty simple. just call my cell if you have any problems. this was a great fucking time and I was glad to be there.
Mortencia-really good for just a few weeks practicing.
The Finite-good stuff, lots of mosh...had a song called palindrome and the song actually was a palindrome musically...which is a good thing because I would've called "foul" if it wasn't.
Porphyria-first time ever seeing them...pretty much blown away. Really really technical, brutal stuff. Also nice to see Blue playing again.
Adai-my god, so much sound out of two people...they came from Colorado and were pretty much fantastic. In the middle was a perfect spot for them considering that they sounded so much different from every other band.
The Final Battle-played half The Final Battle/half Deadwater Drowning set. All sorts of kids went nuts for the DD songs and even the new stuff. I thought the new stuff was killer. Glad everyone reacted like they did.
The Taste of Silver-place cleared out a little bit and some jackass dropped a stinkbomb in the room mid-set...causing Rowan to puke a bit. But the set was great, everytime I see these guys I'm blown away. Came out with a TTOS shirt, and two stickers...thanks dudes!
It was great seeing everyone and hanging out too. Glad this went well because Moe worked his ass off and all of the bands were good.

WOW is all i can say about Saturday night. This is the first 10 minutes of free time i've had since the show started and i wanna take this opprotunity to thank EVERYONE who came out (especially Sean Shrapnel, Danny P, Keith Mutiny, Cecchini, just to name a few). This was truly an amazing night for me and i hope a lot of other people feel the same.
