Original BM (second wave...) was against commercialization of death metal, against Christianity as it was in northern Europe, etc. I think as a "movement" it has evolved...into too many different things. Some of those things conflicting with it's original intention (commercialization, christian lyrics, and so on) so in a sense I can see how you say it's dead. Where once it was a specific form of art with a closed set of ideals, now it's...everything. I think we've talked about this before...I don't know. Either way, I'll continue to play it and continue to not attach myself to any ideology, and continue hoping that Varg's son signs a peace accord with alien niggers. |
