___________________________________ [Oct 22,2006 8:04pm - dreadkill ""] last night was the best night ever. i want to thank everyone who supported us in any way at the show, especially our former drummer chris for being the ultimate roadie for the night. i had so much fun. it was great to meet jonas from katatonia and jesse from daylight dies. finally getting to see my favorite band live made me the happiest person in the building. i can't wait to see them again in hartford next month. |
___________________________________ [Oct 22,2006 8:13pm - dreadkill ""] my review of the show: frozen: caught some of their set and it sounded good. they had good stage presence and cool songs. dreaded silence: i almost killed myself on stage when mike's head shit the bed, but luckily we got on track and only had to cut one song. the crowd was digging us and we played our best set ever. i wish we could play with katatonia at every show. that was the perfect crowd for us. eulogy xl: i missed them because we were loading gear into the trailer. the reviews i heard about them weren't favorable. shroud of bereavement: i missed part of their set, but caught a good chunk of it and they sounded better than ever. special thanks to dan robinson for helping us out last night. daylight dies: they were amazing. i wish they could've played that show back in july that i was trying to set up with joe notcommon, but daylight dies was well worth the wait. they were the tightest and best sounding band of the night. katatonia: i finally got to see my favorite band. they played so many great songs. it was disappointing not to hear anything from tonight's decision, but their set more than made up for it. seeing them play deadhouse was one of the greatest moments of my life. the rumors about me acting like a fangirl when i met jonas are true. what can i say? if it wasn't for his influence, my band would be completely different and not as good. moonspell: i didn't watch them because i only like a couple songs by them. they looked silly onstage. |

________________________________________ [Oct 22,2006 10:21pm - brandonmetal ""] Moonspell was great as usual! Katatonia was good too! They both had great setlists! I don't know DD's songs, but it was pretty headbangingly awesome! Unfortunately, didn't get there in time to see Frozen. I wish I knew about the free admission to the stripclub the other time I was there for Stuck Mojo- instead, had to see endless parade of shitty openers (there were 8), including the revolting band 'crossbreed' which is quite possibly the most ridiculously shtty band i've ever seen. |

____________________________________________ [Oct 22,2006 10:52pm - Eulogy XL (Robb) ""] Thanks to everyone who came out to the show. Also, thanks to the other great local bands we played with. We had an amazing time! I'm sorry some of you didn't like us or didn't think we fit in. I actually thought us and Frozen were the closest in style and sound to Katatonia than the rest of the bands. But I also felt that the other bands were a lot closer to Daylight Dies and Moonspell. So, all in all, it made for a perfect quartet of openers! |
____________________________________________ [Oct 22,2006 11:43pm - Eulogy XL (Robb) ""] Please don't anyone take that last post the wrong way. I thought all the bands definitely had a Katatonia influence to their sound, especially Dreaded Silence. I just felt that Frozen and EXL had as much similiarity to them as everyone else and belonged on the bill. I thought all the openers were excellent last night. |

Look I didn't like the dude's band but he doesn't have to justify anything. You get offered a big show like that, obviously you're going to take it. |
_________________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 9:57am - DreamingInExile ""] I'll give credit to Frozen and EXL for being good at what they do, neither of them are my cup of tea, but I can't bash them for trying. I agree with Pam too, it dosen't matter of you're a pop band, you get offered a show like that, unless you're a complete moron, you're going to take it. |
____________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 12:02pm - dyingmuse ""] What a killer show! Fucking sold out??? That's amazing Especially for a NH show! All the bands were awesome. I agree with Pam and Mark as for the latter posts. Everyone gave a great effort, and for that we had a sick turnout! Thanks to everyone who got tickets and or merch through us, you guys are awesome! And thanks to Rev who as always did a great job! And I love the Myspace page he sent too. Hey rev, how do I get all the info and Pics copied onto my bulletin? I definitely want to send that shit out! |
____________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 12:16pm - dyingmuse ""] and thanks to all the pussies for not going to the partyu after. I got 53 dollars worth of beer for everyone 2 and 1/2 cases. We only drank 1 case! |
____________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 12:19pm - dreadkill ""] i didn't know about the party, but i had to drive anthony home anyway, plus get gear back home. after stressing out all day, leaving all my energy onstage, and singing along to katatonia, i was spent. it was a great night. |
____________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 12:22pm - dreadkill ""] also, i too, agree that eulogy xl doesn't have to justify being on any show they are offered. what local band wouldn't jump at the chance to play big shows? my band wouldn't necessarily fit on the decapitated bill either, but had we been offered a show with them, we'd probably take it. |

They have tons of killer stuff and they evolve a little with every album. You'd probably enjoy some of the older stuff and I bet you could appreciate the new album if you traced the evolution to it. It's definitely not nu-metal, it's closer to Tool than anything. |
________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 2:50pm - retzam ""] And I think almost everyone in here who is saying anything bad about Moonspell is judging them almost purely on their gimmick and new material. They are a very unique band and have released some awesome stuff. |

________________________________ [Oct 23,2006 2:58pm - retzam ""] It's just that I seem to be the only person in the world who distinguishes between the phrases "They suck" and "I don't like them". Everyone else seems to use them interchangably, so I always end up arguing with people only to realize that they are talking about personal preference which isn't something that can be argued about. This is yet another reason why I'm slightly misanthropic. |

_____________________________ [Oct 23,2006 3:01pm - pam ""] I don't think they're very talented. Most bands can write 1, maybe 2 good albums and then blow for a bunch more. Singer is fucking awful, too. Everything concerning music is relative. I'd stop taking offense to "they suck" because the person saying it could genuinely think they are piss-poor musicians for their own reasons. Saying it any way is relative. |

Daylight Dies put on a great show as well, though I'm not much of a fan of theirs. Watched Katatonia play a few songs, then decided to split, since I had to be at work at 5:00 in the morning next day. |
