There are some women that still post here and are treated as equals, though it certainly has dwindled. To some degree, you are right. This forum is mostly a sausage fest; always has been. There were a few bad apples with women posters over the years that ultimately laid the foundation for the ongoing harassment on this forum. Personally, I welcome the women posters. My gf used to post here and never got shat on. She wasn't alone on that aspect- I would assume you would be as well? I've never seen someone badmouth you. The bottom line is, this forum as a whole is a general representation of the male psyche: misogyny, sex, drugs, and the grotesque. For the most part, those have always been prevalent in the metal subculture.. |
