Fuck, Spalding, that spider you posted is making me want to die. After I saw it I looked all around my computer room, under the table and shit. Man, that is a freaky spider. I would rather wake up with a tarantula crawling on me than that thing.

Jim, make sure that spider you got isn't a brown reclusive. i've read that they're spreading here. 10 minutes and you're all done.

Read that. Death from the bite of a brown recluse is pretty damn rare.

sorry. i'm just going by what a friend of mine from Georgia told me. i looked shit up on them about a year ago, when i heard they were spreading up here.
are the death rates rare because of the venom?
i thought it was because of their reclusive behavior, their "shyness"
like how a skunk would rather run away than spray

The venom isn't really that poisonous I guess. Most of the time, they don't even get a good bite. It says in there that many bites aren't felt or feel like a little pin-prick, and some aren't even noticed until hours later. But then it does say that some can be really nasty with immediate intense pain and cause a nasty blister and can become gangrenous if left untreated.

Yeah, based on what I read, they usually look much worse than they are. It said something about the skin around the bite turning blue or grey and it gets really hard, like stiff leather.
