Anyone have advice to start running?[views:20891][posts:64]_______________________________________ [Apr 6,2011 6:23pm - SungwooAVERSED ""] I'm in my schools Track and Cross Country team. If you're JUST starting, do 2-3 miles per hour 6 times a week. After a month, you will be able to feel healthy and comfortable with running 4-5 miles per hour. Eat a lot of pasta and VERY IMPORTANT. Eat a bar or anything like fruits n grains within 20 minutes of your jog. The muscles dry out a bit and the muscle absorbs the nutrients very quickly. you will feel fantastic the next day. BUY PROPER RUNNING SHOES! Best brands are Saucony. Expect to spend $70-90. Good shoes reduce the chances of an injury. Stretch out before and after a jog too. You should eventually, sign up for your local 5k so that you can know how well your endurance is and challenge yourself. 5ks a are ton of fun but remember. Running is a mental sport than anything so practice hard/ Work hard and keep on running. I wish you the best of luck. |

This seems like a flimsy reason to go out and buy a running spedometer (even though you know the Rev is dying to get one) for a non-competitive race. Time isn't the end goal here. Distance is. Best brands are Saucony. He's doing a 10k not starting a 2003 metalcore band. As previously mentioned, he's already running a 10k. |
