| ______________________________________ [Jun 24,2005 2:29am - the_reverend ""] well, I stopped by this place to see what was going on and there was nobody here at all. granted that was early. when I came back, an hour later, it was just coming together. Alex had a DJ set up in the corner with one turntable, CD, mixer. I sat outside cause my earplugs were way too noise dampaning for me to hear people talk and bands were setting up so it was too loud in there for me not to have ear plugs in. cryostasium: this features strep cunt (bass) and some guy in a starflyer 59 shirt (sampler box) and that's it. I must say that I understand his witch tomb perfomance more now. I have no idea what was live, what was on CD, and what was from the sampler. very distant, some times dissonant, and some times very thin and sparce. It sort of reminded me of the thraldom CD mixed with december wolves. It also sort of reminded me of the last time I saw alex empire (ATR) playing. he controlled a box that everyone else fed into. december wolves: wtf... they were intense. devon didn't have the sampler (which was the cool part of their old show), but it didn't matter it was so good. I can't believe how much noise they were able to get out of get 4 members. They played a pretty full set, playing some songs that even I knew. the hirudinea brothers fit right in with DW. |
