I would be willing to give MELIAH RAGE's demo shit a listen, but the shit I've heard is fucking awful... And I saw them and hated that as well. Somewhere in the range of UNCLE SLAM as far as their relevance to Thrash Metal is concerned.

A short review for those who were not born or too young..
Wargasm-if dont know by now, forget it. The Kings of Boston Metal during that time. They singlehandedly put boston metal back on the map in the mid 80's.
Formicide-absolutely awesome, super tight early Metallica-ish speed metal. Played many a show with them. Their demo from like 1989 is fucking sick.
Cardinal Sin-originally from Puerto Rico, relocated to this area. I think my fav. from that era. Good friends of mine as well at the time. Also very Metallica-ish but more technical. Very well composed songs. A CD just came out of their old stuff called "Resurection" get it, you wont be sorry if you like that kind of stuff. Also did a lot of gigs with them.
Demise/Experiments in Fear-cant say I remember that much about them. I think they were kinda like super fast thrashy stuff.
Deslok-Another good band from the era. Darryl has come to some of our shows lately.
Temporary Insanity- my old band, speed metal crossover/moshy stuff. Our guitarist was a smokin player (still is) and made the band in my opinion.
Hearing Impaired/Dim Mak-from what I remember, more towards the punk side than most.
Meliah Rage-Straight ahead metal/thrash. The drummer was the brother of the guy in Bad Karma who plays guitar with one arm (something I always was amazed by)They were signed to Epic for a while but got dropped. I think some form of M.R. still plays gigs from time to time.
Atomicaust-awesome, techincal thrash stuff. Played lots of gigs with them as well.
Valhalla- dont remember that much, but I think they were just generic speed metal.

Cronos at the Paradise. What a joke. He sucked so bad. I was one of the guys yelling "PLAY VENOM SONGS!!!!" So Cronos says "we dont play that evil crap anymore". HUH??? Its fucking Cronos. So they finally play At War With Satan towards the end of the set and the place goes nuts. He looked like such a poseur.
Celtic Frost and Anthrax at the Orpheum. Not sure if it was Cold Lake but they had another guitarist. It was still awesome because it was the only chance I ever had to see Frost. Plenty of death grunts. Martin Ain was like " Are you ready for some death grunts? Let me hear you say OOOOUH!" It was great.
So many shows I saw, I cant possibly remember them all.

Damn Rich! I'm tickled you mentioned Hearing Impaired/DimMak here...we played with every one of the other bands mentioned regularly as well as most Boston hardcore & punk bands from that era.
Randy, good to see you on here as well, and you're right, we leaned a little more toward the punk/crossover school of '80's thrash than most. All the shows mentioned too, wow, I was at most of those myself. Massive nostalgia blast as I read this.
Greg D. from Subjugator is now the bassist in Ichabod with me, along with Ken McKay on vocals, from Big John Studd.
By far my favorite metal demo from this area from that era is the Blind Surgeon demo with Jonah Jenkins (Only Living Witness) on vocals. My buddy Chris and I are going to be putting together a CD of the two Hearing Impaired demos and maybe some Dimmak live stuff, I'll post when it's done.

was that the a.f. around helloween time. i remember after that show they played in a basement at a house in mission hill for a party and i think ended the set as a joke with a u2 cover and i remember all this electrical equimpment around all this flooding in the basement but no one got shocked.
all those shows like coc and the crossover shite were nuts there. fuckin exploited, dr know and psycho was cool too.

Hey Man, Just saw a post of yours from many years back but thought I would take a chance. USed to hit a ton of old Boston Thrash shows and recently started trying to collect old demos from the area. I saw that you had quite a few demos or at least at one time and wondering if you would be interested in selling, selling copies, trading some stuff if you still got them. I am looking for anything by Demise, Cardinal Sin, Hearing Impaired, Scarecin, Bzerkr, Blind Surgeon, Psychosis, Delusion, Infestation, Toxic Narcotic, Wrecking Crew, Candy Striper Death Orgy. I do have some atomicaust, only living witness (demo and album) same with Sam Black, wargasm, Meliah Rage, Subjugator, temporary insanity. Let me know what you think, if you get this. Oh I also have all the formicide demos coming on that CD they put out and same with Deslok. Thanks man,
