Minor modes and dissonance/ambient only, for me.

I may broaden my horizons though...one day

I got a library card and I'm not afraid to use it

current faves:
1.) Iannis Xenakis
2.) Krgystopf Penderecki
3.) Gryorgi Ligetti

what's in your CD carousel?

cool!
Reason I ask is 'cos I want to check shit out in a similar vein to the fingernails-down-the-chalkboard "contemporary" composers

happy is OK, as long as it's not Chopin-happy

Hayden (Anything)
Mozart (Requiem fuckin rules!!!!)
Bach (Mainly his cello pieces)
Mussorgsky (Badass)
Anything from the Baroque or Renaissance period.

My favorite classical pieces are usually cello/viola in minor. Very haunting.

Steve Reich is cool. I go with Philip Glass' later stuff personaly. Did you see the 1931 Dracula with the new Philip Glass score behind it?

No, I haven't, but I must. I do know that there are a few random movies out there that have Glass' music as a Soundtrack. I feel like I saw one recently and I don't remember what it was....

Yeah, you're right, but you know what she meant. If you didn't take Music History with Scharfie, you wouldn't know the difference, either. "Classical" music is a generalization for Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist/Expressionist, Neo-Classical, Modern, Post-Modern, etc, etc. Yes, generalizations suck.
