___________________________________ [Nov 28,2004 11:12pm - Kalopsia ""] anyways, i might as well post a review of this show. there were two local acts, and then it was Waco Jesus, Mortal Decay, Grotesque Euphoria, and Dehumanized headlined by the time i got there the second local act was playing, though i don't remember their name. no one really seemed to get into them. mediocre death metal, and zero stage presence. move on Waco Jesus - never heard them before, but a fun band. they had no bassist, but they still tore it up. just headbanging through their set and playing simple gore grind. Mortal Decay - nice guys, pretty good band. not familiar with their music but they did a good job. good stage presence. their set was supposed to be an hour long but ended about 20 minutes short because one of the guitarists broke a string and wasn't able to fix it. that was actually a relief for us because we were on last and we wouldn't go on so late (we were originally planned to go on at like 1:00 a.m.) Grotesque Euphoria - another band i'm not familiar with, i always spend my time practicing and getting ready to play during the band that's on right before us, so i paid half attention to them. they were pretty good. i can't really say too much more about them, since i'm unfamiliar with them. Dehumanized - we definately got the best reaction from the semi-small crowd. i was personally unhappy with my performance as i dropped my pick 2 or 3 times and messed up alot, but i did my best. sound was also sloppy at times, there were only 2 monitors on the stage and it was kinda hard for us to hear eachother, and it wasn't until into our 2nd song that we really got it together. but it'd say overall we did pretty good. the crowd was diggin it. we played 6 oldies and introduced 4 brand new songs. overall the show was a bit of a disappointment, but who doesn't have those? oh well. maybe next time. |
