For those who didnīt know yet - building up young and hungry METAL bands is one of the main goals in the philosophy of Metal Blade Records - anyway, by now you should have noticed that by yourself We are very happy to announce the signing of FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING. The FRAGMENTS are one of the most successful Underground bands in Germany (if not Europe) of the year 2002. Besides excellent reviews for their self-financed CD "Bloodred Tales", the band was able to get spots on the "Best of Unsigned" CD-compilations by both, Rock Hard and Heavy, oder was!? Magazine. History: The foundation of the band goes back to autumn 2000. At that time Stefan Weimar [guitars in Veneral Disease] and Sascha Ehrich [guitars in Mortified] followed the impulse to found a project band, musically directed to early Swedish Death Metal. Later on, Ingo Maier (drums in Veneral Disease] joined the idea and first songs got created. After a while Wolfram Schellenberg [bassist in Disembowled] fulfilled the puzzle and completed the line-up. In early 2001, Sascha left his main band due to musical differences and the project grew to a static band called FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING. Under the banner of Swedish styled Death Metal, enough songs were created until 2002 to record the first MCD "Bloodred Tales". On Friday, 16th we decided to let things grow and made the decisive step: The FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING signed to Metal Blade for 5 albums! Thus, we are very proud to have been chosen and this was definitely the right decision at the right time. Thanx to those who participated in making this happen.
