I'm a pretty big fan of Leo's acting once he grew out of his pretty-boy phase, but I don't think this is one of his stronger performances. Overall the movie is flawed but is saved by DDL's incredible abilities as an actor. |

This movie fucking rules, and the book is pretty amazing as well. The book's nonfiction too, written in the 20's by Herbert Asbury, who worked for a newspaper at the time. It's really interesting stuff. |

You loved watching it? I thought that was one of the most horrifying moments in any film released last year. It was just the utter embodiment of the spite and hatred that had completely consumed Plainview's mind, and it was total unflinching cruelty. I thought it was amazing, but not easy to watch at all. |
