Whether or not his departure is permanent remains to be seen. The band has issued the following statement: "Here at the Backstabbers Inc. camp, all is not well, and in true BSI tradition we have hit another major bump in the road. After a number of small personal crises, our vocalist, Ryan McKenney, has withdrawn his commitment to the this tour. While we are hopeful that this rift is a mendable one, we do not know what lies ahead for us. The remaining members remain fully committed to completing this tour, and guitarists Brian and Matt Serven are taking over vocal duties until something else can be worked out. There are also rumors regarding this being the end of BSI, but until this tour has been completed, we can not say. We are doing our best to overcome this obstacle and take this band, and tour, as it stands and one day at a time. Also, we would like to note that Ryan, as a friend, frontman and lyricist is irreplaceable. He was a founding member of this band, and has been a driving force behind us all. We will do everything we can to respect him and his contribution to this band as we continue, and finish what we started. Thank you all." |
