what kind of bike should I buy?

I knwo this isn't a motorcycle forum but...
I'll be buying my first crotch rocket soon, and I'm looking for all the input I can get before I decide which one I want.
I'm looking for a midsize bike. I'll be buying either new or just a few years old used. I'm looking for either a sport or sport-touring bike. I'm a big guy and comfort is important to me because I'll be spending many, many hours on this bike. i also want to be able to carry a passenger.
So I'm leaning pretty far towards the Yamaha R6, but I'm hoping I can get some input on the pros and cons of that bike, and those of comparable models.
One of my buddies wants $6800 for his GSXR750 with 3750 miles, but i'd rather buy a new bike if I'll be paying that much anyway. Plus I need to finance.
so what bikes should I look at, and what should I look for in those bikes?

well, it's kind of a pussy bike because of the size, but it's still got the aesthetics that I favor over the Akira style bikes. You can't wear jeans and a t-shirt and kick back on one of those. You have to be all hunched over and shit.

well, any 600 is pretty much entry level, i got a crb600f3, and i throw it around like a rag doll... but its a piece of shit, you should hang in the 750 area to be honest, i personally like the gsxrs

worcester's an hour away. I think it would be well worth the drive, depending on what kind of hook-ups you've got.
