this was a great show, Darren's drumming is absolutely ridiculous. Great turnout too! Thanks a ton to all the people that came out and tore shit up for us and all the other bands. Does anyone see a trend that MA shows are doing better and better? Would've liked to hit the party and shit but with kids at home and a day of work to make up I had to split. Maybe this summer we'll do another Cape show and do a beach BBQ till the wee hours or something!

I had a great fucking time yesterday. I was worried that me and Max were gonna be killing ourselves trying to get everywhere on time but shit worked out extremely smooth. I kinda missed most of my bbq cause of the day being so damn hectic but oh well, i had my fare share of sausage anyways. I put Cooch in charge of saving me some tips but i think he forgot, must of been all the severe rootbeer drinking he was up to. My first show of the day was really fun and i was really excited about playing it. It was cool to get the oportunity to play in front of a crowd like that. The second show was definatley WAY better though. I saw freinds their that i hadn't seen since middle school. People definatley came out from far and wide for this one and it was the most fun i've had in a long time. I gotta say that i never would have expected a show in Natick to turn out that god damn amazing. FUCKING COMPOST PILE!!!!!! i'm glad we all had the chance to get to see the return of the almighty PILE. they played amazing. Definately my favorite Goratory show so far in the states. The best part of the night had to have been the afterparty though. It was like new years all over again but with a bunch of metalheads. After all was said and done we had taken out 3 beer balls, 4 30 cases, 9 12 packs, and a shitload of Jager whiskey and Soco throughout the day and that was only because we were extremely understocked. I want to thank everyone for comming out and having a good time with all of us. I woke up at 10 and just got done cleaning now. time for pizza.

arrived around 3...everyone was just hanging out. The BBQ started soon after, had an awesome spicy sausage grilled by master chef josh staples. gad damn. we need to have another sausage party there even if there isn't a show. I could use another.. We all head over to the show like a huge gang.
DWW: came out and played one of the best sounding set's I've seen of theirs yet. You could tell dan was going to hurl though. I think he should have while he was playing.
US: one guitar short last night. was so wierd playing alone, I think hooking up the additional cab on the other side of the room helped quite a bit. Had a really fun time playing. Dan was totally sick I guess and almost hurled while playing. Man everyone is sick.
Leukorrhea: kicked some ass and sounded extra heavy.
The Facken Pile: Awesome shit, they played pretty god damn tight for only practicing for a couple of days before hand. The last time I saw these guys was upstairs at the palladium in 2000 I think. Nuts. They should play more shows.
Pillory: 1st time finally catching them...pretty intense stuff, a lot of stuff going on. I don't know the material so it was hard to take it all in. I will have to grab the promo soon.
Goratory: Max & Al's 2nd set of the night. Was a super fucking fun time once again. Our 3rd show with them, hopefully we'll play many more wherever whenever. Al, I still think you should have taken my offer for using 2 cabs, one on each side. It was really hard to hear you once again. You know I want to hear you, mothafuka.
The after party was rad, quite a few more people there than earlier...Almost like the whole show just moved into an apt. Lots of retardation and yelling. I was talking to El Justin and brought up how I like to make everyone randomly yell and how it's so easy by just making people think something exciting is going on. So after the first yell there were many random group screaming / raising bottle sessions throughout the night.
THANKS TO KEENAN & DWW for setting this shit up. Wish you guys were at the party! Have my babies.

ok here's my official show review:
DWW: missed their set for the most part, but i heard their cd in alex taste of silver's car back in December. i don't really remember what they sound like.
Porphyria: fucking AWESOME. so heavy.. it was my first time actually seeing them and I was pretty blown away at how tight of a band they were. I'm really looking forward to hearing studio-versions of those songs...a label like Unique Leader or something would be really fitting for them. i also need to buy a t-shirt sometime, and see them with 2 guitarists.
Leukorreah: cool stuff, I'd never really listened to them before. Do they have a bassist? I don't remember seeing one. Hmm..
Compost Pile: I hadn't heard of them really before the show, Al explained the backstory/legend before they played. Pretty cool stuff, the drums sounded really heavy. They seem like a Disciples of Berkowitz type band to me..local legends. I guess I couldn't fully related but it was cool anyways.
Pillory: Awesome set, the sound was really good for them. We played with them a week ago in Troy but the sound was shitty so it didn't really do them much justice. I've never heard a band like them though...they're like Human Remains version 8.0 gold deluze edition. I guess they got cut off at the end which sucked though, but overall it was an amazing set. I felt mentally tired afterwards.
Goratory: Probably the best Goratory set I've ever seen. Everyone went apeshit for them and they played a really good variety of songs. The reaction they got at this show should be normal for them, they really deserve it... and "Pig Fucker" is so heavy.
Party afterwards was fun, met some really cool people and got to hang with the new england regulars. I took some allergy medicine before the show though and I think it really started to knock me on my ass when I started drinking..whatever. It was definitely worth the trip, maybe next time I won't miss the sweet BBQ.

Good time! The show was sick. Fucking compost pile was awesome, I'm kinda pissed that my first time hearing them will be my last.
I was impressed with my first time seeing poor-fearia (did I finally pronounce it right?). I really need to see them with both guitarists, and soon. I'm also stealing that ENGL head, bitch. I crave it.
lou-korea was cool as always. Nates voice is fucking sick.
GORATORY - insane. Max is awesome. Zakk's vocals were a highlight. I love playing with goratory more than any other band, and it's not just because it makes it easier to change up gear between sets. They're the coolest guys around here, outgoing and willing to throw a good BBQ when neccesary.
It was great meeting so many of you. There were some cool people at the show and Al's house - It's funny, I have no clue who in this thread was who there.
Those pictures are great. Someone showed me a couple shots they took on their digital camera during the Pillory set. Could you email those to us? They looked great, especially the video of the mosh before butch cassidy shut down the dancefloor.
By the way, there was probably 150 people there last night. $7 a head, that's over a grand. No one got paid. Someone really needs to beat the piss out of that cocksucker promoter that ran outta there before the show was even over. It makes me very angry that I put a bunch of money in that guys pocket. He didn't earn it.

holy friggin crap. what an awesome show. we got there as DWW was in the middle of their set, but enough time to watch my boy chris shred that shit up. as always a great set. porphyria sounded damn good, even with one guitar. it was great seeing toms face after skipping the solo, quite hilarious. i gotta say though, hearing the engl by itself made me realize how much his sound resembles my pod pros sound (gasp). sorry. leukorrhea sounded good without the bass, i think aegathis needs to tweak his eq a bit though, an old blackface 5150 should be able to cut through more than that. but regardless a great set, the drums sounded great. compost pile was good shit too, flying body parts and all.
pillory sounded really good as well, although i do think the length of their set affected goratorys a bit. im definetly going to be picking up their cd. goratory capped the show with one of the best sets ive seen for them. guest vocals were great, and pig fucker tore the place down.
the after party at als was awesome. wouldve been there during the day (josh gave me a ringy), but there was kubrick practice. lots of ganj smoking with josh, jay, alex, scott, rob, meghann and dwyer. then jay moe and i dined on some delicious veggie sausage and burgers like crazy. thanks to timmy and scott for bringing the veggie yums. such a good time. we need to do it again.

i smoked and drank almost equal proportions, i don't remember much of the after party except lots of "OOOHHHHHH AAAAAAAHHHHHH" and listening to Teratism like 40 times, also grilling in single digits at night kinda sucks, i got a cold now, yay. i do remember that fact that i was half in the bag showing up at the legion and by the time pillory was on I was sober. wasn't that general chicken shit weird?? on the way home at 4 or so i get to the tolls and i couldn't read my ticket, the collector says, "what did you do", i say "i just came from a bbq, fuckin nuts guy!" "a bbq in this shit, you musta smoked alot of fatties to do that" he was right on many levels!
i propose a few requirments for the next one
1. winter bbq
2. kegs
3. natick show/goratory has to play
4. more people show up early to eat!

i can honestly say i haven't had as much fun at a show in a long ass time. it would have been even better if it weren't for those dumb lights. who the fuck needs those anyway? i almost got hit directly in the face with that head people were throwing around during compost pile, hahaha. i was way in the back behind the drums and all of a sudden a fucking melon comes flying at my face...that's scary shit. i had never heard compost pile before, but i had been hearing all about them for a long ass time; they definitely lived up to and exceeded the hype. goratory was the highlight since i haven't seen them in almost a year.
