That book is out of control good. It's like Borges/Cortazar/Baudrillard wrapped into one in an intensely creative horror type book. It's seriously possibly the best book I've ever read.

I tried reading that book. When I leafed through it I thought it looked amazing and truly original. However, I'll warn you, when I sat down to read it I just found it confusing and hard to follow. It was pretty unique, but if you have a short attention span like I do you might not make it through the whole book, I didn't. It's too bad too, because the storyline itself is awesome and really bizzare. I wish he'd re-release a more linear and traditionally written version so I can follow along better.

It's worth reading anyway. The format is an extension of the theme to some extent but the writer did seem to go out of his way just to be difficult. I would like to see what else he can come up with.

this is book is fucking brilliant, brilliantly put together. There's a reason it's so hard to follow, and it comes through more and more as you read along. Everyone on earth should read this book.

Anyone else read it in the 4 years since this thread started? I just finished it yesterday.

HoL rules. I stand by it. Danielwski got totally full of himself after writing it though, and took the book's success as a free ticket to write whatever he wanted. I wouldn't line my cats litterbox with Only Revolutions.

AN ACTUAL EXCERPT FROM ONLY REVOLUTIONS (from Amazon):

I'm no hurry.
But what now worries me?
Terribly unique. Heartendingly
sharp. Out there, my only harm.
Of course I approach the edge.
Roams below drippling the extent
of my thawing ramble. Surely.
I'm the Mountain which
the world climbs down from and
I laugh because it tickles.
Martins wheel.
And though with a wave I could
raze it,
I'm fascinated.
My donkey trots off.
-never fall.

Nice fucking novel, dick. I could just picture him typing that up on his iBook while he sips on his bubble tea and says "I'm the greatest writer since Dean Koontz"
