The flavored water was in full effect that night.
The taste of silver played their new grind song for the Raising Kubrick split, which I like alot. Those guys are fun.
The binding was okay, a less catchy The End. If they stick around for a bit they will either become really annoying or pretty good.
I always liked Ascendancy, but becoming a 3 piece was the best thing that ever happened to them. Dual vocals rule, cheers to Josh!
Cheers to Josh again, Abhorred with a bassist makes them unstoppable! They have mastered the art of stage presence, I wonder if they practice their stage presence at band rehearsal?
This was one of the best shows I've ever seen Shroud play, HAIL SATAN RAAA! I've never not liked them, but they were right on last night, having monitors must have made the difference I suppose.

Turns out the soundguy owns the place. He really likes Defcon 4 and was raving about Robin, then talked about how great it was to have Converge play there.
Nevertheless, he said he usually tries not to do too many heavy shows, but once every few months or so, but more frequently in the summer, he doesn't mind having a show like that on a sunday, monday, or tuesday; that said, maybe I'll try and do a show there this summer. Won't do 18+, though.
fun show...I didn't make any money to splash around but the owner gave me $25 to give to the touring band and we covered the house costs, which is good, so thanks to all the bands. Everyone did a great job and that was a fun bill. Things wen smoothly and I was in bed around midnight.

ascendancy - it seems to be the cool thing to say, but i agree totally that they sound much better as a three piece.
shroud - i was good and baked, and they made me enjoy my high better. kudos.

I got there at 6pm - the place was empty. I called Dan to make sure he wouldn't be late to this one ;) I met the doorguy and the owner - they asked me who I was and I said I was with Shroud- I had Shroud's merch and mine. I gave the doorguy some free demos cds/stickers. Also I chatted with the owner - he likes classic rock etc - I offered him some stuff also but he said he doesn't like any deathy/shouting metal/music.
I think the owner was telling me after one of the bands took over the corner table that he wanted to make sure the bands knew in advance the place was small. He said he warned everyone to check out the place beforehand. When Terrence arrived and the owner said he couldn't grab a table against the wall, I even asked the owner again saying he's my friend and if they could make an exception. So I think Mr. PA didn't want alot of stuff in the way from the beginning. Oh well, I am always ok with bowing out merching at shows.. cuz it's a haul anyhow - I've been going to every Shroud show lately. Some day I'll be their #1 fan
The show was good last nite.. I think Shroud put on a great show even though doom robinsion was inebriated. Danger doom robinsion danger! I think I got home at 1am and stayed up till 1:30 looking at rttp pix and making new myspace pals from the show. Won't you be my neighbor?

good show. me and joe were fresh off of our trip to albany from hours before and were ready for some flavored water.
the taste of silver as always were great, i cant beleive that nicks peavey head is already in the shop. oh well. they sounded great regardless. cant wait to get that split out.
the binding were cool, i saw them in jersey last fall. i do agree with joe, a less catchy the end. but they were a lot better than the last time i saw them.
ascendancy was in full effect after their mishap in new york the day before. im going to hop on the bandwagon as well and say they are better as a 3 piece as well. joshs bass actually has the chance to shine through now and really helps to drive the songs better. terence just needs to get himself another cab and then theyll be gravy.
abhorred played their first show back in god knows how long, and man i forgot how much i missed them. and they sound HUGE now with josh on bass. fingerstyle staples was in full effect, ripping through all the songs. it was so good. there is no stopping that band now.
shroud of bereavement definetly made the night though. i hadnt seen them with the new guitar player yet, and he did a great job (sorry, didnt introduce myself). dans drunkenness just made for the set to be a big doom party. my girl kellys voice was fantastic as usual. cant wait for the cd.

and yeah i didn't make it to work today...lol i ended up hanging with dave miller back at my place till about 3 am. was supposed to be at work at 7...ooooops!
i thought all the bands were killer. i really enjoyed ttos they were awesome, very cool music, and good energy
i don't know what i thought of the chick fronted band...i guess not really my thing, though they did sound solid to say the least. very good effort!
abbhorred, they got a lot better since their first show...the last time we played with them was their first show....they came a long way, and i dug their music.
ascendancy, well as everyone pretty much said...way better as a 3 peice.
not saying that mike was bad, cause he smoked and i love that kid....but there is a lot more clearity in their music live now, i also agree with blue in that you can now really hear josh and his vocals slay, i love their new song. and terrance you do need a second cab....good show guys!
i was pretty drunk, and i think my guitar was a bit out of tune. i think we did good with the new song, kelly sounded real good, and mark sounded ballsy( i am so glad he's in the band now) i think for my state i did ok, but sarge the russian metal mother fucker knocked into me as i was about to hit my first note in the new song solo and i hit a few bad notes there, but it was worth it cause i fucking love that kid. and sorry jeremey and mark sarge is and always will be our #1 fan lol he's the fucking man!!!!
fucking blast last night! it was great seeing Blue, Jeremy, Joe b. Joe n.c., the 3 Lizes, Aarron, the three everet peeps, Dans drinking buddy Eli, Miller and all my boys at this show. thought the turn out was a bit weak, shows like this really make me proud to be part of this scene, because i get to be with my my metal family. you all rock!
and thanks again to Aarron for the pics, fucking sick as usuall!!! you are the fucking man!

I would like to re-itterate, I DID NOT drink the flavored water down to the point where I liked dink. I stopped right at the point where my wrists were limp and numb. Liz, joe, and a few others did however "go all the way" with their waters. After 2 hours, my wrists were back to normal.
the taste of silver: their set sounded a bit off in the beginning, but the sound guy woke up after that. Rowan had a new microphone and the alex level was at an all time high.
the binding: they were my motivation to go to this show. I didn't even know they had a girl singer. they were really good, very tech metal. the girls voice reminded me a bit of melissa from the wage of sin. the bass player was the one that moved around the most.
ascendancy: again, ascendancy with only 1 guitar player. I think that in some parts, it's a hell of a lot easier to figure out what terence is doing. also josh's bass has been brought forward and is more important in.
abhorred: josh playing again and my first time seeing them with him. abhorred get's the "show boat" of the night award. they did a lot of "metal" posing. unfortunately, with a 10' stage and 5 chunks of meat this were a little tight and I kept missing cool shots. oh well. they were also the "crowd favorite"
shroud of bereavement: every time I see them, they just add more people. pretty soon it'll be the SOB orchestra extravaganza! they actually got a lot longer to play then the club was going to allow. as everyone said, Dan was drunk. I could also hear that one of the guitars was out of tune compared to the other, but I don't know if it was dan or mark.

it was me i think....but i did tune to the piano, wich can't be out of tune, so that was just weird. i heard it in the beginning, but seeing as how i did tune to the piano, i ass-umed it was mark...then realized when after the second song we were still out, i checked my tuner, wich i don't ever use....and it saved the last song.

glad the Cd was ok! I had burned another one but got an error and the rev had to leave for the show...but the way i set it up wasall originals in one folder and then i processed them all running a basic program maknig them smaller (what I do to pics on my site) and then in a separate folder, played around with some pics
again sorry i missed it..but i really need to get better and someone coughing all night kept me up and then he went back to bed in the morning and got quite a few hours sleep but i was up the whole time...
also, nice talking to you rowan, at first i thought the rev was going to hand the phone to Nic!

i had an awesome time last night! i was so fired up afterwards I didn't want to go to bed but at the same time I was wiped out, kinda cool.
tos - i always enjoy these dudes. i think they do a great job for a 3 piece minus the bass. rowan is a great singer and awesome to watch.
the binding - i actually dug these guys and gal. i especially liked the 2nd to last song with that slow part that built and built driven by bass.
ascendancy - here's the set list habitual killing/world of deciet/evsiceral battery/darkness within/spite/my blood upon you/conquering the inferior/enslaved by dominance/dead wake/defiant redemption/none begged for mercy I wish i had more room to move, but the sound guy yelled at me for going on the floor, gay.
abhorred - set list was the bile of all humanity/forever war/obliteration of the self/collective strangulation/detox/matyr brigade/race riots/wallowing in utter chaos/deprivation/corporation pull in it was cool we united to claim the floor!
sob - by far the best set i've seen them play. my first time seeing them with a 2nd guitarist as well. such a full sound with 2 guitars, 2 keys, plus the bass sounded mint! kinda like Mike O'Meara's bass, does it have stock bartolini's? I'm motivated to see them again. looking forward to the album as well!
funniest part of the night, I'm shooting the shit with Johnny H of Abhorred, "dude, John, you gotta check out all the sports memorabilial in the bah, it's all shit from 92 and before and whatnot" John replies, "hah, like what autographed Phil Plantier photos and shit?" "shit guy, how'd you know, they got one of those in there!" funny as shit he randomly said that and they randomly had that. remember Phil Plantier? the toliet stance???
