Also, I haven't been to the Living Room since the the ol' 1999 days in Fault with Ookla the Mok and As the Sun Sets. That place was awesome because it would serve alchohol to literally ANYONE! We were like 19 just shitfaced off of Long Island Iced Tea's and Grateful Dead's (shit, we didn't know what was what yet). Actually, the last time I was there, it was in Fault and we played during the countdown to new year's '99! Probably with As the Sun Sets and/or Sevendaycurse. The real charmer is that i take away from this evening HANDS DOWN THE VERY BEST Terrible Night performance to date. Totally fucking right on. All that shit that was wrong on Saturday was cleared up and they were really together. I was down with the clown, i tell yee. Also I am part of the DC virgins who had his aural cherry popped tonight. This guy Brian DC you folks see posting is a very good musician and has great finger independence. Keep an eye on his great fret work. |

I was mega tired at this show and sort of just wanted to curl up and sleep in between bands.. but I didn't want to catch bugs. no, but seriously... akela: not as much energy as the other times that I've seen them. the stage seemed way too big from them and separated them too much from the audience. I think that's why they had their backs to the audience for 90% of their set. BTW their split CD is really good. I giggled a bit cause one of the guitarists and the bassplayer had super short straps. dour_cursiva: I had never seen them before. they were the reason that I decided to drive all the way down to RI to see this show. they played the song from the RTTP comp to... I wasn't ready and missed the "sing along" damn me! the bassplayer proved excesively hard to take a picture of. a terrible night for a curse: played on the floor, but it didn;t really seem to matter as a lot of people left... that sucked. enough people stayed so that on the floor, it didn't look that thin. so, I think the longer the singer wears the bracers, the more amon amarth juices seep into his body. the clean vocals are turning more viking. lots of head banging on that floor.. saddly though it was all the band and not from the crowd. the taste of silver: the beginning of their set was wicked rocky.. mix wise. the vocals sounded terrible for the first song. after that, it was slick and smooth as silk. these boys are all arty and stuff so I decided to take a bunch of pictures that were all grainy. the perfect ending to their set was when the sound guy played neutral milk hotel. the_network: their set was really short. they played like 5 songs. I think this was the second time that I've seen them with out a bassplayer. they had the most commanding stage presense of the night. their mix was all f'd up... like no vocals no guitars in the PA, but all vocals in the monitors. I wanted to yell to the fix it and to raise stainless's pants levels. they were too low.. zing! |
