Ok... so I thought Robert Englund was just a brilliant actor for his unflinching excecution of the line "Where's my Bour-bon!?!" in Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3:The Dream Warriors...

what I didn't know is that the line has even more significance than being hilarious...

there is a good chance it is a homage to an earlier film called "Blue Velvet" starring Dennis Hopper

check this out

the mystery of "Where's my bourbon" is slowly unraveling.

Maybe I am used to the tv-edited version, I haven't watched it in a while... Freddy says "Where's the fucking bourbon" in the unedited version, but in the TV version I'm pretty sure they edited it to "Where's my bour-bon" could just be more brilliance on the part of the TV censors... TV censoring has really become an art form. It makes some hilarious scenes in movies just unbareably funny... like in Casino... whoever does the overdubs for Joe Pesci has to be the 3rd best actor ever... he sounds nothing like Joe Pesci first of all, and I think he substitues "broad" whenever joe says "bitch"... like "broad" is any less hilarious. "Where's my bour-bon!?!"

"I like the crap games with barons and earls
Won’t go to harlem in ermine and pearls
Won’t dish the dirt with the rest of those broads
That’s why the lady is a tramp"
- Sinatra's live version of "The Lady Is a Tramp"
I have to start a Sinatra cover band soon.

Sheer Terror used that "bourbon" clip on "Yesterday's Sweetheart". Add that to your library of useless knowledge.

the mystery of life is swimming somewhere in the depths of the bourbon... was Craig T Nelson drinking bourbon when he swallowed the preacher/ worm thing in Poltergeist 2? I don't think it was tequila...or beer...but I probably haven't seen that movie since 1986

Anthrax and Mr. Bungle are also bands that use samples from Blue Velvet.

Damn I have to see that movie...it probably would have been better if I had come upon the movie by chance before hearing the hilarity of the clips... as Doc Brown says "Damn... damn damn! Damn damn damn!" I don't know if he says the other 3 damns, I don't remember for sure, it's been a while since I've watched that movie.
