This is soooooooo funny!!! How can you POSSIBLY take yourself seriously and claim that your album which has not even been released yet is the best of the DECADE? They don't even have any quotes from reviews up there to back up their hyperbole.

i think Darkest Hour is good, but them saying they have put out the album of the decade....sssssss....i dunno about that...to say that this album will be one of the best album of the year, they might be able to get away with..but the decade is a little much. Maybe they're just being really cheesy and arent being too serious. If anyone remembers the video they did for Sadist Nation, they dont really take themselves too seriously. But if they are, then best of luck to them.

alright, if they think their album is good, that's great

it's no Ride The Lightning.
it's no Slaughter of the Soul

I'm going to call right now that it's not even as good as Reroute To Remain

*shakes head*

i had a feeling the best album of the decade would be made by a band with such a unique style. mixing at the gates and hardcore, what a novel concept. fuck album of the decade, it will probably be the best album OF ALL TIME. these guys just reinvented metal with their fresh approach. fuck that, they reinvented music as we know it.

SOMEONE SEND THESE COCKSUCKERS A MEMO.

i mean, this album makes ride the lightning look like the retard jamboree.

i think more metalheads would choose reign in blood over ride the lightning as best metal album of the 80s. i know i would.

I would definitely say Ride The Lightning is in no way the best album of the decade released, probably not the year either. The best album of the 80s I'd say is Iron Maiden - Powerslave. I don't know if I'd consider it the best album of 1984. I'm sure whatever Maiden released in 84 is better than Ride The Lightning (I think it was Piece Of Mind, in which case I stand by that statement). Also, Van Halen's 1984 is better I think, but I suppose lots of people would disagree.

I just checked. Powerslave was 1984, Piece Of Mind was 83, I was just confused because I didn't realize they released 2 albums in 83. So it's settled. Ride The Lightning is nor the best album of 1984, or the best album of the 80s. Powerslave was both.

I can imagine Axl Rose getting word of this, crashing through the wall at Victory's offices in an I-ROC and then hitting people over the head with a vinyl copy of "Appetite for Destruction" Then Gene Simmons would sue all parties for stealing his idea of playing music in a live setting.

If you're gonna get technical, then no, no they didn't.

Iron Maiden - 1980
Killers - 1981
Number Of The Beast - 1982 (Pretty early on in the year too)
Piece Of Mind - 1983
Powerslave - 1984
Live After Death - 1985
Somewhere In Time - 1986
... and then they lost their 1 album a year pace.

Anyway...

1984:

DESTRUCTION - Sentence Of Death
BATHORY - Bathory
SODOM - In The Sign Of Evil
WARFARE - Pure Filth
RAVEN - Live At The Inferno
VENOM - At War With Satan
SLAYER - Live Undead
HELLHAMMER - Apocalyptic Raids
etc. etc. etc.

1995:

EMPEROR - In The Nightside Eclipse
SAMAEL - Rebellion
ORDER FROM CHAOS - Dawnbringer
BESTIAL WARLUST - Blood & Valour
NIFELHEIM - Nifelheim
DISSECTION - Storm Of The Light's Bane
and so on...

Basically, fuck Victory, especially when they start talking about Metal.

Oh man, my mistake. For some reason I thought Number Of The Beast was 83. Now that you say it though, all that makes perfect sense, cause I knew they were doing an album a year for a while, and that the debut came out in 80.

I think at least Slaughter of the Soul was, maybe at least in the top 5... Storm of the Lights Bane came out that year too... I'm trying to remember what else..

I can't believe a band is THAT cocky to think that they have the album of the decade... That's like me saying that the new Shroud CD will be album of the century. You can't tell people what to think will be "best album of the decade" it has to happen naturally, like Slaughter of the Soul, came out, ATG hated it, they wern't happy with it and then BOOM it's the most popular album, causing Hardcore kids to want to be metal and giving birth to MetalCore ( )

I hardly believe that something on Victory records would be any good at all, let alone Album of the decade... to be honest, I think the latest offering from Shadows Fall was better then the crap they have as a sample on their site.

The worst part about all this is the fact the both Ride the Lightning, and Slaughter of The Soul were proclaimed masterpieces by the metal community. Not by the bands themselves. This is just blatent cockiness, and I would not be surprised if nobody bought the album due to this big headed trailer of thiers.

I think this is a joke too... i mean, do you honestly think that this band has their collective head THAT far up their collective ass? "Part 2" of this video preview thing will probably be like, "whoa! hehe! just kidding about all that best album of the decade stuff, but still, please buy our album. We all work at Home Depot."
