Despised Icon is going to be sick. I just started getting into them like a week ago. TYAG practice at the same place I have my recording studio, yet I still have yet to see them, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Also, I've seen Sac Religion spamming the baystate cock board for at least a year, so It'll be good to finally see them and hear some of thier tunes.
And let's not forget Burn in Silence, the least gay metalcore band ever.

i guess no call no show for despised icon which sucks because the dude at the door charged us more than advertised and the headlining band didnt even show. it was a good time anyways burn in silence, pillory, and tyag were all great the first few bands were pretty good too, but honestly i wouldnt have skipped band practice and drove an hour and half to see this show if i knew that it was gonna be 10 bucks for locals that i can see anytime for like 3 bucks. also the douche bag that booked the show asked us for a ride home. hehe. not tonite bro. also sucks for the dude in the celtics jersey that got arrested for taking a piss on the side of the road. he was a pretty cool guy. fuck cops.

Pillory - Awesome top notch performance as usual. Chris is one of my favorite bass players.
Burn in Silence - This really is Goratory's alter ego, there were several riffs here and there that reminded me so much of them. I watched the keys most of the set cause I never seem to hear them live. All in all I think they're a decent band. Nothing mind blowing or nothing boring. Max is a fucking beast on the bass. My gawd bro, how I've watched you play for so many years, excellent job. It bothers me that I'm the only person yelling Goratory songs at them and when I do people look at me in total disgust.
Very strange atmosphere last night....random Hopkinton kids there I haven't seen in 3 years, only 3 people there who were musicians that WEREN'T in bands, hawt bartender lassy, odd stage setup, fucked up lineup, sucks DI didn't show, then of course everyone pillory and bis corner kenny for stiffing everyone.

burn my remains - played well. singer has a cool voice. guitars where pretty low hard to hear all the riffs.
perpetual winter - their drummer was pretty good. made lots of silly faces. i liked their set. i don't know why the singer kept calling mass the hotbed for psuedo black metal. new hampshire must be so grim and frosty this time of year.
sacreligion - pretty tight. didn't get to hear the keys too well. wonder what we missed with no second guitar. the singer was kinda flat but not as bad as the recording i have heard.
TYAG - it took them a few songs to tighten up. hard to hear to vox. its all mono tone gutterals anyway. the drummer was pulling off fancy tommy lee-esque stick spins the whole set which i thought was pretty rad. good set but nothing really stood out to me.
pillory - darren is insane but you knew that. great band. great set.
burn in silence - wahhhhhhh. everyone cries about this being goratory's "metalcore alter ego". if all metalcore was this good i dont think alot of people would hate metalcore. i thought there would be more breakdowns and football riffs. did not expect keys. was that the changing skin singer? i hated changing skin.

I'm super sleepy.. so this sucks.. but:
Burn My Remains: I have only seen them once before and I think they sounded much better this time, tighter and all. I didn't know that they were on this show... I actually think the PA helped the vox sound better.
perpetual winter: they sounded really good too. from the CD, they have dropped any of the samples/keys and just sound like the band WAR. they played a slayer cover, but it was done in their own vein so it was still black as night. again, the PA made the vocals sound better.
Sacreligion: they are sort of slowed down type-o-esque black metal. they have a keys player too. who sort of did a pee-pee dance for most of their set. I'm sure glad I don't play keys cause I wouldn't know what to do with myself and I would probably do a pee-pee dance. and like the first 2 (but not the last 3), the PA made the vocals sound better.
Terminally, Your Aborted Ghost: so they have a big new line up. they sounded "pretty good". the songs were all throwbacks to the old stuff. In the past year 1/2, they were incorporating a lot of start-n-stop, off time changes and different things that sounded more like what old virulence or failsafe device would do. They definitely sounded a lot more deathgrind like they used to be. The exception was the last song which is probably their longest song ever. it's got a lot of sabbath influenced stoner-esque riffs, but i'm guessing they probably came from listening to soilent green a bunch.
pillory: I'm sure the rest of the band performed well, but it's not like anyone else noticed... I tried to capture it in the pictures, but I think I failed. for their entire set, 1/2 the club was packed into the back and staring at darren playing. They basically just ripped through their set. After seeing them sounding really really good at Goodtimes, it's hard to see them compacted into this small place.
burn in silence: same as pillory, since I saw them both in the same venue last time. By this time, darren had more time to learn more songs. They played one of the songs (that they hadn't before) and I swear I saw darren mess up, no lie. but then again, I know nothing of music so I'm probably just talking out my ass. Anyhow, they played to the crowd in that small area that they were given (1/2 of which was drums). they had plenty of people there to participate in the sing along (MFR and jasonSOE).

REV the PEE PEE dance was the greatest thing I saw that night, well, yeah. I think we were easily the most rowdy, drunk people there. I was really looking foward to DI but was so wasted by the time BIS was done, it would have been lame no matter what! ha!

perpetual winter - their drummer was pretty good. made lots of silly faces. i liked their set. i don't know why the singer kept calling mass the hotbed for psuedo black metal. new hampshire must be so grim and frosty this time of year.
I never once said MA was the hotbed for black metal, I did say People say that MA is the hotbed for METAL. And yes New Hampshire is very grim and frosty this time of year, thats why the Reverand and all of us New Hampshireites are soooo cold and grim. Thanks for the review, and I agree our drummer does make silly faces.
