So, Joel did his usual asskissing and running around looking busy while doing nothing all night at the show we played at Jarrod's on Sunday. At the end of the night as I was leaving, Joel said goodbye to me. I told him that "Bane of Existence sends thier regards". Dude, the guy went fucking nuts! He had said all of 10 words to me the entire night, but now all of a sudden he dropped what he was doing and ranted to me so long, I couldn't get a word in, and the guys in the band were probably outside waiting for me for at LEAST 10 minutes. In his defense, he never said a negative word about Bane as a band, or as people. He mostly rambled on and on (and on) about how Bane handled things wrong, and Jarrod handled things wrong (yes, he badmouthed Jarrod's role in the shenanagins as well), and how he was just there trying to "hook bands up" and "make a living". In other words, he never said a negative thing about Bane, but after 10+ minutes of ranting I think it's obvious the whole thing upset him, but he at least had tact not to say anything bad to someone who obviously knew the band. Just thought the guys in Bane and a few of you others would get a kick out of this, especially if you know Joel or have worked with him before. |

He really sounds unbiased about that whole thing, he just wants everyone to be happy with whatever may come along from here. In fact he's probably said all this to so many people by now that he has an entire ranting speech prepared and we both heard the exact same thing. |

The result is, it was a bad investment. He's been trying schemes from ticket sales to nationals to all ages to dance nights. It's just a SHITTY location for a club, for bands anyway. I've seen the place packed, but VERY seldom. Too bad, it's a great setup. I'd love to see 400 kids in there for a metal show. If that happened often, maybe Jarrod would have a completely different view on how to deal with the bands. Even Joel admitted, Jarrod handled himself poorly with those emails and messageboard posts. It was childish. |
