Violent Marv is on now and really impressing me.
I went down stairs and shot screams of erida and claymore. I'm going to check out throne or something like that in a minute.

UPSTAIRS:
bury the needle: I was rushing to snap shots of them and get down stairs. once they came out and started, I totally remembered who they were and that they were good at sweetleaf. after one song, they broke a string ad I had to run downstairs.

ichabod: I finally figured out was is so good about them. dave and the drummer are always in lock step. also the bassplayer has a weird bass. it was double strung 8-string bass thing. I don't get it but it sounds good. the vocals were sort of lost most of the time in the mix.

violent marv: sort of like dispised icon or somethign like that with a little metalcore mixed, but you couldn't hear it too much. they could totally be sound completely death metal on CD. some of their stuff was a little spazzy too. the only song I didn't really care for was the first song off their first CD.

today is the day: wow. awesome is to small of a word. from start to finish of their set they don't stop at all which both amazing and rare. since the last time I saw them, they were minus the keyboardist. it reminded me of seeing them back in 2003 at the hanover house when it was just a 3 piece and they were playing on the floor. they were totally in your face. the set list was awesome too. it makes me realize that I only have the radio issue of saddness. I noticed that when they play the more industrial parts off that CD, steve austin looks like he's on the verge of crying. then the vocals kick in and he switches to a soulless gaze over the audience. I hope that the library is still standing after tomorrow.

DOWNSTAIRS:
claymore: they were another radio friendly band.

screams of erida: I was walking by the street and looked at the band list for downstiars. when I saw that they were playing, I figured I could go down and snap a few shots of them in between the other bands upstairs. they seriously put every ounce of them selves into this performance. I know that normally, they are all over the stage, but they were most so and in the face of the crowd over and over again. it seemed like this was a very important show to them. the audience was full with a lot of people that I knew too. I hope that good things come from this show.

throe: I saw the face of music on WAAF in 2 years. it was rock/emo that reminded me of if you took all the hardparts out of the new Underoath and mixed it with the get up kids. when I gave that description to someone they said something like "sounds like a highschool girl's wet dream." basically it must have been. I didn't like it at all, but I must say that they packed in the people. it was full front to back with kids. mostly the aforementioned highschool girls who were all singing along. weird.
