That is so futuristic power metal.

That is like the Final Fantasy VII of Power Metal where as something like a Rhapsody cover would be the Final Fantasy IV of power metal! *geekdom*

What I'm trying to get at is, thats pretty sweet.

Al, curious what you were thinking about that German band called Ravage, the thrash band? Have they had any contact with you? And do you even care?

I'm sure you had the name before them. Not like it matters unless either of the bands gets a license in the other's country for distro and even cares about it.
 ____________________________________
[Sep 6,2005 12:30am - Al Ravage  ""]
I've heard of them and had some minimal contact with them. Hasn't been too big a deal since we are completely different styles... they call themselves thrash, but they are basically deathmetal. They are a decent band.
We've had the name much longer, but they were the first to put out a full-length...and we will be the first to put out a full-length on a label. There were a couple of bands before us that used it and bands will probably try to use it after us, we have our own logo and that's basically that... the only restriction we have is that we'll probably never be able to put out a self-titled album. I don't believe any band called Ravage has ever put out 2 full-length albums on a label...and probably for good reason...but we are hoping to break that curse.
 ____________________________________
[Sep 6,2005 12:34am - Al Ravage  ""]
I guess the name has always been an issue. I came up with it when I was 12 years old and there was no internet to check things out, so I had never heard of the 80's Ravage (who has a very limited release in 86) and the late 80's Ravage who became Atheist. I don't know why we stuck with it, but at this point I'd keep it if only to annoy those who hate us.

Ive heard your stuff on the myspace site, and I must say, it would be a pretty decent band, theres only two problems, one the Lead Singer has a femme voice and is not understandable at all, I hate to be rude, but I have good taste in Music, and if the band had a singer and some actually decent songs, I feel that this band could succeed. I also think the cover art, actually all of the above cover art really sucks... use some imagination, also change your name, you guys are not as heavy to be referred to as ravage, find a name that truly fits the band. Ive noticed that you guys have been around for a long time, my only problem is, you play awfully bad places, if you played places that actually drew in people, you might actually have a legit CD out. This is from a record company exec's viewpoint. And if the lead singer reads this, no offense my friend, but you truly arent talented, i have to be honest, its my job.
 ___________________________________
[Sep 11,2005 2:51am - Al_Ravage ""]
I didn't know major record company execs prowled this board...be on your best behavior future rockstars... well from that Simon Cowell-esqe appraisal...what exactly are the good qualities of the band if we have bad songs, a bad singer, a bad name, and sucky art? And our CD isn't "legit", I guess because it isn't out on Capitol Records...wait, they released Milli Vanilli didn't they? Or at least a billion other singers who couldn't hold a tune. My only advice for J.J. Juggs is that you get a new job... or start working at J.J. Juggs, because that place has a hilarious name. As for me, I am too legit to quit, so if our songs, band name, and my voice piss you off, you can always go watch American Idol to see some some real "talent"

I have written songs with Desmond Child, Julia Child, and Julian Lennon, and I can unequivocably say that your music has no redeeming value whatsoever. You play classless venues like Obriens where alcoholic beverages other than Scotch are served! and you DARE use the name Ravage...which should be reserved for such "hard and heavy" rock and roll acts as Skrape (whom I helped to sign). You boys deserve to have eggs thrown at you... you will never make a good reality TV show playign such venues with such songs... where is the appeal? How can we market this to little girls. How can we break the news to Carson Daly? Your band is for shame, give it up...fuck them, play on.

Mr. Ravage, you have me all wrong, i do not think the musical talent of your band is bad, i just think it is you, your voice, and your lack of enthusiasm on stage. You are a nobody, and frankly, will remain a nobody, I only hope that your talented Bassist, Drummer and Guitarists, decide to move onto bigger and better things. The next lyric you should sing is either "Have it your way" or "Would you like fries with that" Don't be mad because I have made it in this industry, and You have not. Hang up the shoes my friend, throw in the towel, save yourself the disgrace.

You sure sound like you've made it buddy... right to the loony bin. Who did you sign, Hall and Oates grandmother? You are a pretty sad little piece of slime. The only reason I have kept on with this band for 9 years is to irritate dickless twits like you who try to put together bands and break them up 3 months later because "waaaa we didn't get big" "waaah no one likes us!" "waaaah I can't impress enough people in the scene". Fuck off. You are obviously some local lowlife who can't take it when...god forbid...some other local band has even the smallest iota of success. The only way to boost your flacid ego is to sit behind the scenes making up ridiculous pseudonyms (which you can't even hold in character for more than one post because you get so angry you start flailing at the keyboard) . We haven't sold one CD and scum suckers like you come crawling out of the woodwork to try to tear a small local band down. We've heard this shit from idiots like you since we started and we're not changing our style or our way of doing things (so go cry for someone else's 'scene points'). You are the lowest of filth and I delight in the fact that you writhe in torment at your keyboard as you read this. So my only advice for you is... take some acting lessons...or some better acting lessons... and go suck some hollywood producers dick for a while and maybe some day you can be the best boy of a hollywood flick and you'll have something to make your pathetic life meaningful. I on the other hand will solider on fronting my band and irritating the piss out of dumbasses like you. Have a pleasant day.

The album cover would make a better shirt in my opinion.

As far as Al Ravage not being a good frontman, thats stupid. He has a power metal meets danzig voice and it's great. Ravage is an awesome band, and O'Brien's is a fun place to be.

Skrape on the other hand, that band writes music for the lowest common denominator and it's no wonder they got signed, especially by some faggot who doesn't even like Ravage.

I now know why your songs are lacking the sound and the lyrics necessary to be a successful band. Its because you spend way too much time on the internet, when you should be writing new songs. And I would like to thank From Beyond the Grave, for showing the average intelligence of a fan of this music. It must be for the numb of mind, because not only did he say something once, he probably forgot in his high stupor that he had posted that. Mr. Ravage, get out and be proactive, make your band worthwhile, you need more help than Vince Neil ever did. Enjoy your lack of CD sales... and lack of shows... you guys could not even make it into a Local festival who accepts everyone, there is a problem here.

This is the JJ Smith (Glass Stomach) fund.
The Idea being that we purchase JJ a glass stomach so he doesn't have to take his head out of his ass, yet can still see where he's going..
JJ would buy one himself, but he's is a washed up record exec. looking for the next big thing on the internet and sadly can't afford more than the food in his belly and clothes on his back.. FYI - J.J maybe you should go check out some live acts and hit the Middle East ect.. to look for talent rather than sit online and browse back and forth from this webpage and others.

If you would like to donate for his glass stomach Cash and Checks are gladly accepted..

By the way... J.J if you weren't a little pussy you'd have your info posted so maybe you could back up your claims to in person. The internet isn't the place for slander. Its like running in the special olmypics man, even if you win your still retarded. Give up Ravage is still here and your still a pussy.

I love being in Ravage. I loved thier music from the first time I heard it. And when I got the chance to play bass for them I really didn't think twice. BTW this is coming from a non bias perspective. (I didn't write any of thier songs)

Most of Ravage's songs are great. Simple but effective. Extremely fun to play I might add. And Al's singing.. While not technically impressive. It is still tasteful and well performed(alot of people wish they could say something like that about themselves)

I am not sure why some of you guys have such a hatred torwards Ravage. As I know some people who feel the exact same way. But what I do know is. Ravage is here. We aren't going away. And we will rock out too an audience of 1. So if you feel compelled to make anymore negitive comments, just think of how many people care about what you have to say. 0

The art situation explained -
a lot of people don't like the art... yes... I've heard that
I think it is a good artwork...maybe not exactly what I wanted, but it is good, it is the art the label came up with and I am pleased with it's quality.
We rejected a few works of art before this one... our budget was very limited, and we went with the label's artist and he did a good job. I'll post some of the rejected artworks (including my own) and if people like them better, they can print them out and hug them and squeeze them and pet them and love them. But the album is what it is, the art is what it is, and if you like the music, buy the album, if not, go talk about Slipknot.
