In addition to this factor, there have been many bands and promoters that have announced their benefit shows to the public and also on the Bands for Relief calendar, who have been uncooperative in providing legitimacy for promoted benefit shows. Bands for Relief has witnessed first hand, fraud and chaos from these individuals who choose the path of dishonesty. We must regretfully announce our departure from future participation in relief efforts in the music industry due to threats and attacks to Bands for Relief representatives and its associates. The Bands for Relief website has been disabled, due to attacks and slander. A very special thank you to all of the bands who have successfully raised and contributed money for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort as well as the media, who has played a paramount role in supporting Bands for Relief and encouraging bands and volunteers to "get involved" over the past month.
