cut throat: well, what an excellent surprise. I had no clue they were going to be on this show. They themselves didn't find out about it until monday. Cut throat sounded good, but up on a big stage isn't the place for them to be playing. It's better with lower stage (like brockton). They played a bunch of newer songs. also, I heard them say they have a bunch of releases coming out which I hope kris mission sends to WUNH. Their newer stuff sounds a little less chaotic than the first release on rockvegas. The front was about 5-10 people moshing it out to them and singing along.

goat island: seeing them was what brought me down after hearing that CUAD was out of commision. They set up just like they did at ralph's, but had less room cause of aiden's back line. Still, they set up all the lights, smoke machine, etc Earlier today, I listened to their MP3s on myspace. Those mp3s seem so limited compared to their live set. Like hearing a song through you cellphone and the production of those are pretty good. Their live sound is very massive and wide with sounds going on all over the stage. Just like at ralph's the power cut. It was on the last song, but it wasn't a fuse this time. It seems someone tripped over the chord and unplugged it.

aiden: well, I've never heard good charlotte, but I'm going to assume that since they were all wearing makeup and it was pop-punky that this is what they would sort of sound like. All their moves seemed so pre-planned and sterile on stage. prescribed. Even their costumes. before going on, I saw them getting their makeup touched up too...lame.. . However, They were very apologetic about them not fitting in on the bill. It was weird the image they looked like they were trying to portray, but they were pretty gnuine and nice to the crowd. For their last song, they had everyone in the crowd come up to the stage for the sing along. Everyone in the crowd did come up and sing to them too. Something about hearts and minds and friends or something.

it was actually mark our singer that cut the power. luckily only my floor board was plugged in, i can't afford to have those amps blow. we hadn't practiced since before the ralphs show cuz we lost our practice space so i'm glad we played as OK as we did. fun show. thanks again rev.

jim

ps: those mp3's suck. we're hoping to record again sometime this fall. until then we're gonna give out a live set just so we have something that better represents us.

That Aiden band looks like they might moonlight as fluffers on the sets of films such as "A Pipefitter's Union". The tubby dude with the brohawk and makeup might be the most unintentionally hilarious thing EVER. FUCKING CLOWN SHOES!

lead singer's taking a week off, doctor's orders, so they got a friend from some local (missouri?) band...guitarist handles most singing vox anyway so it was fine, just kind of a short set

still remains: yes, different singer. I'm not sure what was medicaly wrong with the original singer but whatever. the guy that filled in was from a band called the orphan (I think). they were pretty good live. I must admit that I never listened to their CD. it's just been sitting there at my radio station with a roadrunner label on it and me not listening to it. I will probably pick it up and see what it really sounds like. the music was metaly, but they had a keyboard player. let me say, he was the craziest keyboard player ever... running around the stage as much as derek (fassw). I think I took too many pictures of him cause he was moving the most.

underminded: they were a pleasent surprise. pretty fun sounding, a bit on the old norma jean side of metalcore, but they had a lot of friggin killer guitar parts that the lead singer/guitar player would coe out with. I was actually surprised by it. I thought they were totally going to suck.
