I feel it's the total Cryptopsy experience taking a piece from every album in some way, shape or form. The songwriting is great. Worm's vokills reminded more of BMF than NSV. If you're a fan of Cryptopsy, I don't understand why you wouldn't like this album. I only got two spins of this so far and that was the other day, sorry it ain't that fresh in my head. |

| ________________________________________________ [Oct 24,2005 6:29pm - mark fucking richards ""] anthony, you don't go to harvard for nothing! you're learnin' good son! anywho... i've only listened to this once all the way through. i listened to it with the worst expectations since 'the pestilence that walketh..." was one of the worst preview tracks to post online. i definitely like it more than i thought i would. some of the quick clean guitar parts throw me off. they did do shit like that on previous albums, but in a different manner. overall the drums are definitely the most present, as tom mentioned already, but overall i think the sound is pretty good. very reminscent of the first 2 albums in production. i'd have to listen to it a few more times to get a full feel, but in my opinion the songwriting is a bit scattered. i'll be listening to it a hell of a lot more so hopefully it'll grow on me a shitload. |

I think the song writing is pretty complex and intense but the production ruins it totally. drums sound like garbage cans. the bass needs to be clearer as he is incredible! nothing beats None so Vile and I still have their 4 song demo Ungentle Exhumation from 1993. But I no longer own a tape player. |
