The Melvins[views:1976][posts:5]________________________________ [Oct 24,2005 3:54pm - Ryan_M ""] up until recently, i'd never listened to the melvins before, and about a week ago i decided to check them out. i bought 2 albums, because i read how versatile their music can be from album to album. i bought "ozma"/"gluey porch treatments" (2 albums on one CD), and another called "the boot licker". i didn't care for "the boot licker" but "ozma/gluey..." was okay. i'm not shooting them down, but i was just curious if there are any melvins fans on the board; what do you guys think of them? |

My favorite records from the Melvins are 'Houdini', 'Stoner Witch', 'Stag', and 'Honky', though I could list a dozen more that are also good. The collaboration they did with electronic musician Lustmord 'Pigs for the Roman Empire' is also excellent. 'The Bootlicker' is far more experimental than the other one you got. They do that pretty often, go completely off the deep end. |
