With the cap there is really no room on a roster anymore for goons, and guys who can only fight. Teams need players who can at least play defense fairly well, and contribute in other means. Too bad, i liked Orr a lot, but in reality he didn't have very many skills. all he could do was fight (which he was great at!) but his skating especially was pretty poor for the NHL level. I don't think we'll ever see someone with 300+ minutes in penalites in a season ever again, which sucks! The goon was the poster child for the NHl for a long time and a great tradition of the league. |
