Some of the parts sounded like needed a little more guitarwork to make them more interesting, but it actually might have just been the mix. I kept flipflopping between thinking the mix was awesome and sucky during their set. aggression: completely over driven vocals coming from these dudes with grey hair? are you serious? I totally can not believe that I was able to see these guys and they played so good. dbc: these guys ruled. When they started, I didn't see genisis explosion on the setlist, but it was there at the end. I guess they haven't played montreal in a while. They promised to play montreal every 16 years. In the back ground, there had the letters DBC which I tried to take pictures of. when they left the stage, the letters flashed along with the crowds chant of "DBC! DBC!" I think these guys should have played later and gotten more time. exciter: they had so many technical problems. It started out with the announcer not being able to find a mic, then when exciter got on the back up mics weren't there, the main vocal mic didn't work, the main mic then came unplugged. So did the guitar (it happened again during the last song). They were the first band with falsetto clean vocals. when I was younger, their lps were the epitomey of cheesey classic covers. I still giggle when I see the cover of violence and force. New CD coming out in 2006. anvil: I was up on the side eating some food when they started. I didn't think anything would happen in the first few minutes. Boy was I ever wrong. The singer/guitarist, Lips, jumped off the stage and went into the crowd to play. He lifted up his guitar and screamed someing into it. I grabbed my camera and took off into the crowd after him. There were way too many people with little digis and disposibles posing with him. their set was fun. Ooooold judas priest influenced metal with tongue in cheek song lyrical content. Like the song about a girl that like millions of dicks called jackhammer. Or the song called maddog, named after a guy who came up on stage and drank beer through his nose (pictures of that are up at the end of their set). |

I started getting a migraine before pildriver so I slept before their set and more most of it after the first 3 songs. same for the 30 mintues that razor set up and I ran out of the club right after their first 3 songs cause carina was waiting outside for me so I wouldn't start vomiting in the club. that coupled with the fact that neither carina nor I have cellphones that work in canada and her getting really sick the next day made us not be able to hook up with anne. I feel bad and hope she made it back with someone. |
