| ________________________________ [Jan 11,2006 3:20pm - Ryan_M ""] me and my brother recently had wisdom teeth out. he had all 4 out, was prescribed antibiotics and painkillers and he had very little discomfort. i, on the other hand, had only one out, was not given antibiotics, but given painkillers and i was in some horrible pain for the next two weeks. all the molars on the top left side of my mouth throbbed, soon the pain spread to the top of my head, which felt like someone took a hammer to my skull, along with lots of pressure behind my left eye and in my sinus. painkillers did little to nothing and i would vomit up my pills and anything else i ate. i went to the emergency room, and after i was given an antibiotic, i felt fine after two days but because my sinus was infected, it was leaking pus out the hole where my tooth was pulled, so i had another operation(free of course) to drain the fluid out. more antibiotics. after that, i was fine. so don't worry too much, make sure you're on an antibiotic and you should be fine. |

My buddy is going to bring over some extra strength vicodin, so needless to say, I'm going to be doing great. Two of mine were deeply rooted in because I waited so damn long to get them pulled, the surgeon said it was the cause to some rather major complications during the procedure. I only got it done because next month I will be losing my health and dental insurance. |

The wisdom teeth are hard to keep clean due to them being all the way in the back. 2 of mine were decaying, and the other 2 weren't far behind. I had all 4 of mine pulled last March. The procedure was freaky. One min your awake, next min you're out. Then next thing you know, you're waking up all disoriented. I was sore for about a week or so. Trying to eat really sucked. I lived off of soup and mushy stuff for the whole time. |

(the first night was definately the worst ive had so far in terms of pain) yeah, also... when i woke up my mother threatened to knock me out cause i was so jumpy and wouldnt stay still - it made them bleed a lot. otherwise, it went well. |
| ___________________________________ [Jan 14,2006 10:09pm - niccolai ""] Got hit in the face about a year ago and broke my wisdom tooth in half. the other night it randomly cracked down the middle like ice and there was a jagged end stabbing my cheek so I tried taking a finger nail file to dull it down but it didn't work, so I wedged the fie into it and twisted it and broke the sharp piece off but it just made more sharp points... so I broke pieces off one after another and now it's totally flush with my gum. There was much blood and pain and cussing and screaming. I need fucking dental insurance. |

I don't remember much, but according to my parents, when I was waking up from the anesthesia, I kept insulting the nurses. |
