I saw a program on the History channel the other night. They make it using tap water and the machines are solar powered. CA is home of the first hydrogen power stations. I don't remember the exact number, but there are quite a few of them. The problem is consumers switching from gasoline combustion engines to a hydrogen powered engine. Not everyone has the money to go buy a new car, so we pretty much have to drive our gas guzzlers to the ground while auto companies begin manufacturing all hydrogen powered cars. |

The reason gas prices are so high is because there is a such a huge demand for a resource that is finite. With in the next few years the entire planets oil production will have peaked which will cause a slow drop in production and sharp peaks in prices. America's production peaked in the 70's and the last few countries that haven't peaked are of course middle eastern and they don't have enough to sustain powers such as us and china during its modernization. As far as Alaska goes there is said to be at most 2.6 billion gallons which would only last us a handfull of years and lower gas prices for a few months. In the last hundred years america alone has pissed away over 200 billion gallons and we are now only left with around 20 billion gallons which we have already tapped into. Don't take my word for it, google "peak oil" or check out drydipstick.com. |
