They had a handful of decent songs, but how can you compare them to bands like Sabbath or Zeppelin or The Who? Seriously, even bassists who are marginal by today's standards are better than he was, and if he were alive today I doubt he would have improved all that much since being alive would've meant that he finally had the sense to leave the music business before it killed him. My buddy George, whether he would admit it or not, would give Phil a run for his money these days, musicians are just far more advanced far sooner in their careers to make a comparison, but saying some shit like that prompts a response, sorry. |
