You can buy a geforce 7 card for under $50. And it's based off the Doom3 enigne, which I'd say is one of the best engines for the ratio of eye candy to hardware you get. They can do so much with so little, unlike the piece of shit FEAR engine, which I still like to talk about how bloated their code is. |

SLI motherboards these days typically have only 1 or 2 PCI slots. The motherboard I chose has 2 pci slots, but 1 of them will be unusable because the 2 nVidia GeForce 8800GTS cards I'm getting will each occupy 2 slots because of their cooling. I'm down to 1 PCI slot now. I'm throwing a sound card in that slot so I guess I can kiss the idea of moving my old PCI tuner card over to this machine goodbye. I'm out of space. |
