bare these arms: so now I know how my parents must have felt when they saw 14 year olds playin hendrix. for you kids reading this, Hendrix was this dude who used to shread the feedback hardcore. He's very old school. I'd see 14 yos effortlessly playing that and people my parents age would have their minds blow. When I'm like "he's just playing guitar." I only saw their last song, but these kids made all that melodic guitar stuff seem effortless. Black dahlia murder influence hardcore with some melodic parts.

love to hate: damn, that singer uses his voice like guy did in TRC before he blew out his throat after recording the first CD. If they do a bunch of show or record a CD, that guys going to hate himself. They were pretty heavey. They reminded me of neversaynever how the sort of sound like they'd go well with lamb of god.

beyond nothing: moshy zao/as I lay dying stuff. some ofguitar work that unearth uses to bridge parts. the stuff towards the end was moshly moshcore. Think seed without adem sandler on the mic. People in the crowd didn't seem to really care about them though a couple people did in fact mosh for them

black_onyx: or whatever they will become. feed back city through the pa in the beginning. I think that they fixed that quickly. though at the end of the set, bbsb were scrambling around to fix something. The bassist was missing I guess. I remembered liking the guitar work. Its really good. They play riffs similar to old iron maiden stuff, but with sweeps in the middle of it (i think BTBAM does this too). Two guitarists that could do harmonizing here would rule or actually maybe even a keybooard player just for those parts (or just on the recordings). they are one of the few bands that could use 3 guitarists and a bassplayer in certain parts. Though they could probably do what beyond the embrace does and have the lead guy use 2 cabs with a harmonizer padel ($90). People moved up closer for these guys.

only blood will tell: they reminded me of attwn mixed with the risk taken. moshy hardcore with the drummer singing. This was the first band that knew what's up and played on the floor. mostly filling up that huge space. I don't remeber ever being here and the show stayed on the stage.

At this point only one band on the schedule didn't play so they are ahead by 5 minutes less than a full band.

when_legends_die: they were the first band that jumped around. Compares to the band that played thusfar, they were a lot tighter and the sound quality of their set was a step above. I think they've just recently recorded something so that's probably got something to do with it. granted most people on this board would hate them and probably passed this thread over long ago to post things about marks show place. They had a lot more people moving around this should be a foreshadow of what is to come. The last song they did had a bunch of people from spill kit and others up on vocals helping them along.

Spill Kit: wow, they are so much more over the top than they were before. They had lights that they could step on to turn them on. Slowly, these dudes are becoming the chariot. At one point, the bass broke and it got thrown. I would be afraid myself of breaking it. Basses are expensive, now? Aaron (vocals) told a store about building a massive fort in the when legends die house. I won't believe it until I see pictures. he then licked a girl in the crowd's face which is doubley gross cause he's got a big-old muslim beard. they had a large number of people dancing during the end of their set.

burdens will be broken: fun fact: they are almost exclusively power by moxie™ they were a mix of bury you dead and dwd. None of the nu-metal stuff from green st. During their last song, they and the audience were yelling "you fucked everything up." I was standing by the chord that had just about everything on the stage plugged into it. I felt the urge to un plug it and when people notice say "sorry, looks like I fucked everything up."

acariya: they had so much equipment on that stage there. Wood's drum set basically takes up the stage so they pulled it forward and everyone was on the ground but him. all that tastey equipment really filled up that room nicely. Musically, they remind me a lot of all that remains. Including a lot of the vocals.

Yeah, i don't think it matters too much if ATTWN sounds alot like a certain National act, cuz they totally tear the place up and they put on an excellent show. You missed a few good sets Rev. ATTWN kicked ass, NSN was pretty good (Thier bassist fell over and almost killed the singer, it was sweet), and BASB did a cover of Unite by Throwdown. My band didn't have a great night, but in a more positive note my other guitarist puked on stage and broke his top string, all in our first song! A pretty fun night if I do say so myself...

saturday was fun. Lots of bands and a shitload of fans. I think there were around 160 people there total (according to the count board out front). BASB did a great job of organizing the show. Bow to None cancelled and Ismada/Timeless didn't show. Don't know what happened to them. Only downfall was our guitarist backed our van into a guardrail. Last weekend he got it stuck on the railroad tracks.

Gilbo, Stevus keeps trying to levitate during our set. He has yet to defy gravity, but I am certain one day he will. I see you sliding around out there in the pit:

i can't understand for the life of me all of the negativity. i don't keep up with many of the posts, but from what i've read, it seems like some people are more concerned about ripping on local bands they don't know or like than supporting the ones they do.

if you don't like something (band names, music, performances), give an honest and intelligent opinion and suggest some things that you think a band could work on in order to improve, don't start a childish flame war online. we in NeverSayNever are friends with a lot of local bands and we, just like all of the bands we know, work hard to do something positive with music. ripping on bands just tears the scene apart. remember, music is art.

the reverend, what are you talking about people in the crowd didnt seem to care about Beyond Nothing? No one cared about shit, it was 12 in the morning, Id say they cared seeings how they got the first pot (as small as it was) And Ryan from ATTWN is right, if your a band with guitars and a screamer, your automaticlly not origanal. And im noticing that a lot of the bands you refered other bands too sounding like, the only part that sounds a like is the vocals, why dont you learn something about the music. ATTWN doesnt sound like AILD, and they dont look like them either, only the singer does. And none of there shit sounds like them either, I'd say they sound more like It Dies Today. Listen to My Promise from It Dies Today, and then Frozen Planes of Hate, the beginings sound almost identicall.

I don't need to know anything about music. I play CDs.

I think that ATTWN sounds nothing like IDT since ATTWN sound like they like girls. which the newer IDT doesn't. they do in fact sound like AILD.

when Beyond Nothing played, the crowd for whatever reason was really far away from the stage.

I hope that answers all your questions.
