I got the double-disc (could have just about fit on one though at 78 or so min. total) at Newbs for $9.99 on sale and highly recommend anyone else not scared off by the band's electronic direction of the past decade do the same ASAP. No guitars, but the production(s) are more akin to the upfront, crisp sounds of Exodus and Reign of Light than the somewhat obscure, occasionally muddy Eternal. I suppose both discs kind of fall under the umbrella of EBM; Era One is very solid song-oriented stuff, while Lesson In Magic is a bit more abstract. These brothers can do no wrong, I'm so stoked this stuff finally saw the light of release. |
