the colors are darker.
when you mouse over names, you can see buddyicons.
it's got more pop ups for people logging on.

of course it ws only the basic version so i cant expect much.. but the profiles were gay, the sounds were gayer, and i couldnt use yahoo.
im gonna stick with my dead aim thank you much....

erin, you can customize trillian to not have sounds, its pretty simple.
and the profile thing (making html possible in a profile) you can solve by installing the minibrowser plugin.
i didn't pay $25 either.
i got the final of 2.0 last night, it's not that much different yet. aaron was right, the yahoo/msn connectivity problems are fixed. immediately i noticed the gay windows that popup to tell you who signs on and off. fucking retarded feature. the first thing i disabled too.

one of the public beta's i got required you to run a 'loader.exe' file... the version i have no just has crack patch trillian.exe, so no.
it came with all the plugins and shit too since trillian requires you to login on the site.

dead aim is rad.. its just like any original aim, with a few exceptions... it has message logging.. which rules.., transperancy options... so i can see my pretty desktop.., tabbed IM window.. so you dont have to have a bizillion IMs cloggin up your taskbar.
all of these are explained in greater detail on the dead aim site.. which i would list, but im too lazy to look it up.
if youre going to stick with something simple, dead aim is the way to go..
but if you like all that futuristic nerd stuff... (haha im calling you a nerd tom), then by all means get trillian.
(and tom, i did disable the noises.. the the IM windows bothered me.. and im a bit confused about the profile thing.. would i have to post html in MY profile for someone else using trillian to see it? arg)

no, it would act just like aim profiles, type in a url and it auto links, stuff like that.
the im windows bothered you? you can skin trillian... also you can get log viewers some are awesome, it breaks conversations down and lists by date/session, rather than all your conversations all in one long ass file.
