ASBURY PARK, NJ. – The lineup for this fall’s New Jersey Metal and Hardcore Fest in Asbury Park, N.J., has been confirmed.
Superjoint Ritual, Dimmu Borgir, Morbid Angel, Nile, Nevermore, Children Of Bodom, Hypocrisy, Strapping Young Lad and Symphony X headline the show on Friday. Cradle Of Filth, Type O Negative, Deicide, Suffocation, Hate Eternal, Biohazard and Krisium headline on Saturday. Also appearing are Unearth, Bongzilla, Diabolic, The Red Chord, A Life Once Lost, Premonitions Of War, Cannae, Benumb, Between The Buried And Me, All That Remains and many more to be announced.
The New Jersey Metal and Hardcore Fest will be held at Asbury Park's Convention Hall complex on Friday, November 14 at 3:00PM and Saturday, November 15 at 12 Noon.
Friday individual day tickets are $40. Saturday individual day tickets are $45. Two-day passes are $75. All tickets go on sale Saturday September 20 at 10:00AM at ticketmaster.com, all ticketmaster locations. To charge tickets by phone, call Ticketmaster at (201) 507-8900 or (609) 520-8383.
MassConcerts, the promoter of the highly successful New England Metal and Hardcore Fest is working in conjunction with ConcertsEast to present the festival. In just five years, the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest has become one of the nation’s top heavy metal festivals. Held at the Palladium in Worcester, MA., this spring’s edition of the two-day New England show sold out more than a week in advance and earned rave reviews from media throughout the continent.

not that i know of... i REALLY want to get on this fest. because there aint no way i can afford to go down to NJ and get merch, food, and a hotel... i will only be 18 so i cant even rent a hotel... also i am not paying 74 dollars to get in. Deicide isnt worth that much

We need this show because no one outside of Maine even knows who we are. We need the crowd.
And who knows, the event most all bands hope for could happen. A talent scout from a major labels or one of the headliners, likes us.

i was really excited to go.... until i saw the lineup... now i dont know... i mean dont get me wrong there are some great bands playing... but all the ones im interested in ive seen before... not to mention the majority of them are playing the palladium this year...

the line up doesnt seem worth it for a trip to NJ. Most of the bands play the NE fest anyways.

they are having smaller bands they just havent announced them yet.... the last day to send a press kit was earlier this week i believe... thats some listening to do and plans to make....

Yeah, the deadline was last week. We were referred to them by Paul from November's Doom so they excepted our entry two days late. Hope the money we sunk into that presskit was worth it.:bow:

but if the nj fest is like the nemhf, it'll be the same couple western mass local bands.
I wish they would deversify.

the first couple years they were pretty good about having different bands... they had Bane of Existance and Acephalus and Blistered Earth and Goratory i believe.... but yup last few years its been same ole same ole

they go with bands that get a good crowd response... for any business that makes sense and you can't blame them

yes, but, look at it this way.
they have 20 bands on the main stage of the palladium.
the first of them is a local band who does not get paid, even though they need to sell tickets. fair enough, cuz in milwaukee you have to pay to play. the next 19 bands all have guarantees of various amounts.
the same amount of people are going to come to the show anyway, so massconcerts in fact throwing away money.
they could have 17 bands on the main stage who have guarantees and use those other 3 spots for locals who do not get paid, but need the exposure. then massconcerts will save themselves money and look like good guys to local bands. now if they did that on both stages, both days (this is new england i am talking about now) that adds up.
and the same amount of people will still come to the fest, and on time since it always sells out.

people wont show till later which reduces the $$ the club makes at the bar...
last years fest sold out a week before the event... people had their tickets in advance what time they arrived all depended on who they wanted to see...sure there will always be people who are there at the doors being opened ( i usually am for most shows) but look at the way its set up... the first day is ona friday... the majority of people have jobs and dont get there till 5 or 6 anyway (unless u take the day off like i have every year haha) and then saturday a lot of people are hanging from the night before and dont mosey in until 3 or 4
dont get me wrong i think bands in the local scene could greatly profit from the exposure as such a large event, however the club wont necessarily... not to mention a lot of people in that last few years have whined they wont less local and unknown bands and more national larger acts.... and being from this area i tend to agree. nothing against local bands... but i can see them when i want to.... if im going to a large festival... i want to see bands that arent just on tour coming thru... i want to see bands that havent played here before... someone im excited about truly seeing.

if they do i would say it's probably because scott lee tosses on some shitty metalcore acts, he loves that stuff.
but how many people complained about bane of existence the year they played? and who would really complain if watchmaker played?
it all depends on who they have playing i think, and i think in fact that it is often metalcore, alot of the people who go just assume all the local bands suck, and do not go to local shows at all.
they should diversify a little, perhaps, even on just the 4 spots they use for local bands.

i know a lot of people who have complained... both people from MA and people who are from other countries. i know for the most part the 7 people who stayed at my house for the show this year had no desire to go until later in the day for both days... tho i think we did go early one of the days because someone had a press conference or something they had to go to.
i mean dont get me wrong ive seen BOE plenty of times... but if someone told u you could see BOE and say Goratory or you could see some huge band that hasnt played here before......
it all goes to personal preference i guess.... but when you are having an even with people from all over the world coming....ehhh i dunno...
it would be kinda cool if they did a local stage tho... like out in the parking lot or smth... hehe

one year they had a third stage down the street.
too bad there isn't a club who could do an after party, from like midnight-4am or something.

it was kinda cool.... but alas that sparked the huge anal cunt incident... with fighting over headling the second stage and the eventual arrest of seth putnam

sorry to correct u my friend but it was Febuary 11th and 12th of 2000
the fest in 1999 was the first year in which they had just the two stages but three days worth

hmm, i still think you are wrong, only because i only went 2 times.
the first time was with kids i was friends with in high school, but didnt know afterwards, so i couldnt have gone with them in 2000, and i went with them the year AC fought hatebreed, the misfits played.
i didnt go in 2000, 2001 i went with wonderdrug records, to help run their table. in 2002 bane of existence played, and that was the last time i went.
