it was great finally meeting phantos and getting to see maine again. Although, much like last sunday in Providence, it seems like they closed down the whole city. Nothing was open and no one was on the streets. disengaged: minus one guitarist, getting lost 3x, and breaking down in kittery, but they still put on a great performance for the 10 people there. the remaining guitarist (moran) tried to keep up, but with the lead shredder mia, there were a bunch of bald spots and do-overs. And the singer (beakey) paid homage to his new found hometown by switching around a bunch of the lyrics. It was sloppy, but a good show none the less AND the owner asked them back to play some other time. I guess she really like the "maine's going to get fucked tonight" lyrics. structure of lies: awesome. I've been wanting to see these guys for a long time and I thought I was going to miss them, so when I heard about the maine show, I couldn't pass it up. They played a ton of songs, I would have to say that I didn't know any of their songs, I only have the iRANACH split. Weird thing: all their songs seemed to be from splits. They'd announce a track and it would always go "this is ___ from our split with ____". I think I need to get all those cds. They also sang a song about drunk driving... as someone who's had all his family members who've died do it almost exclisively through drunk driving accidents, it was cool to hear a band do that.
