People are into whatver they're into. Even if I think it's pathetic I could give a fuck less. When they start fucking up venues to play at, I beging to give a fuck.

It was pretty much through Revocation's entire set over by the PA. At one point it looked like Rich was going to drag some kid outside. Good times!

Ah that explains it, I was too busy being humbled by the insane musical prowess on stage.

From everything I've read, so do I. Once certain people learn behavior at some trashed basement is not the same behavior at a bar/club, the world will be a better place.

Sheesh, I didn't realize there was so much drama... I guess that's what I get for taking so many weed breaks. It's awesome that the retard that grabbed Marsi's tits and acted like an ass during SKULLETON got clocked in the parking lot though.

skulleton: whoah, wayne (ex-eternal suffering) on drums. Last time I saw him on stage was in 2000. the band was 2 guitarists and him. One of the guitarist played a lot of harmonics that sounded like video games. The other played a lot of the rhythym and sang in that high pseudo king diamond thrash voice which comes across funny live, but people used to be all about.

Drunk and Undead. Words to die by.

I left my bullet belt in Monterrey Nuevo Leon Mexico. US border guards don't much like gnarly dudes with ammo around their waists. I gave it to a guy named Viko. When I met him he was wearing a Cock and Ball Torture teeshirt. I don't think he knows what that means though.

extinction agenda: I was promised a lot of motion but didn't get it. that's not to discredit the brief seconds that DHTH thought he was in all out war and aimed his guitar at me. but it didn't really matter cause the crowd took it over. They were packed right up to the stage and pumping their fists. they swear that this is the last time they are busting out the pestilence song, but we'll see. Somehow I think that is a promise that people won't mind them breaking.

volatile: first, I was the one that got them to do the cover I wanted, we asked for the witch and they gave us the witch. At the start of their set, most people were MIA. I was thinking how completely lame this was, but as I thought about hpw lame it was, more people filtered in. They are fun, but it's that akwardly funny sort of this to watch where it's funny to watch cause you know that everyone has no clue what to say, even the band. eddie ended the set the same way he ends every set, with the mic, in the crowd screaming (cause his gear broke.)

revocation: so rich horror security guard? is that a title you can keep up? And why the hell did CW stop playing? same dudes. Mostly same music. What gives. if you saw CW, you know what to expect. Their playing makes people twice their age quit music and makes young kids thrash out.

hey...this is the guitarist/singer from SKULLETON...not to be to picky, but i was also in Eternal Suffering. i was the original bassist and later became the second guitarist...but, i admit, i look a lot different without all that hair!!

It's funny that you should mention Arsis because that is exactly who I was thinking of when I was watching them, with the ridiculously tight three man lineup and what not. I was lucky enough to catch Arsis at O'briens a few years back and watching James from Arsis pull off those songs with just one guitar blew my mind. That was one of the most amazing displays of technical prowess that I've ever seen (mind you, I'm not a guitar player so I'm just talking out of my ass!), not unlike the Revocation set last night. It made me sad for all the times I missed out on seeing Cryptic Warning. Keep it up guys, you fucking rule!

Dave Davidson, son of David.

And I agree.

I actually don't like Arsis much. Technically they are insane but there are just no songs in it for me. Their 2nd release, that EP was a little better.

When Ian [doorguy/soundguy] actually jumps to his feet to stop someone from pigpiling because fake thrash scene fags are acting so stupid, I know it's gotten bad. If someone made it so O'Briens shied away from putting on metal/grind/whatever shows I would without hesitation break the neck of whatever shithead caused that to happen. That would be why I [and many other people there last night] were getting progressively more irritated as the night went on.

If jumping on your friends' backs and moving around is acting sooooo stupid, then touche to you. I've never known that to be 'out of control'. Next time we'll stand there with crossed arms and grimaces.

I've never played or been into metalcore, and how would you know that were 'fake thrash scene fags'? We get along with just about everyone. We're not clique-y at all. Taking e-jabs like that is really ignorant.

Get to know people before you pass judgement and you may appear less disgruntled.

And maybe we can all sit around the campfire sometime too. But probably not.

If the soundguy there, who is the most laid back 'I don't give a fuck' person I've met is jumping to his feet to stop shit, that's good enough for me.

And I was told be someone who shall remain nameless that your very gay singer was in fact in a very gay metalcore band.

I will never not despise you.

Ha, that was me! If I'm not mistaken, their singer was in Cyanide Breed, who, while not exactly metalcore (more like melodic death metal I guess - it's just more fun to call people metalcore), sure had seen more hetero days. With that said, I didn't mind Despotic Robot, they definitely were entertaining, but it was also entertaining seeing Rich man-handle them protecting his turf (and kudos to him for that!)

I was so subdued that night. I didn't use my fists, forearms or knees on anyone. Nor did I throw anyone through a window.

[Jun 18,2006 2:24pm - GravityBlast ""]
Okay, I just can't help myself. Referring to a venue as someones' "turf" is blatantly clique-y and "scene". And if moving around is out of control, surely you're being hypocritical as well Rich. I'm really done now. E-trash and threaten as you wish.
 ____________________________________
[Jun 18,2006 2:26pm - RichHorror ""]
I haven't threatened anyone. I've stated facts. If the staff is uncomfortable to the point of jumping to their feet with a look of worry on their face, the staff is uncomfortable to the point of not doing shows that ren't folk or indie rock. And for that, yes, I would beat the shit out of someone.
