Filthy roots hardcore/punk band angry lyrics with a social/political leaning. I'm going for a unique edge to the lyrics, song titles, riffs, etc, but the foundation is total oldschool. Not too metal though, this would be like the punk counterpart to Extinction Agenda. Influences would include: Agnostic Front, Black Flag, Capitalist Casualties, (old) Corrosion of Conformity, Discharge, Doom, Dropdead, Fear, Impaled Nazarene (for attitude), Minor Threat, Motorhead, Nasum, Phobia, Ramones, Sheer Terror, (old) Sick of It All, The Misfits, and Voivod (their earlier, punk-edged sound). I'm sure I'm skipping a lot. I will be playing guitar only, and we've got drums. We've got a practice space, recording setup, etc. So I'm interested in hooking up with a bassist, 2nd guitarist, and angry, charismatic vocalist, all preferably 21+. It's perfectly acceptable that this would be a sort of 'serious' side project for all involved. But most of all, it's about having fun. My only insistence with that stuff is that the lyrics are provocative and the song titles are original (I always Google my songtitles before I decide on them). Political is good, but more from the angle of how it affects the average middle class person. Haha. Basically, hardcore. Rich writes good lyrics though, I've read them and I am a huge jerk about lyrics. |
