We're getting our CDs printed and just got a sample of what it would look like tonight, but the guy doing it has matte paper and there's a lot of black so it's sucking up all the ink and it doesn't look as pretty as it should. I've looked online for double-sided gloss paper but am having difficulties on deciding what to get. What would you recommend?

how about getting them professionally printed?

any printing place should be able to do it, or you can go through a CD duplication place (which I suggest).

because it costs assloads of money...it'll come out just as good as a professional place if you use the right paper

we were going to do 100 just to keep our costs down, and when we sell them we'll have more money to get more copies

the guy is using an epson printer(not sure exactly what model, but he suggested epson paper since it's kinda touchy but i can't find double-sided epson gloss)

thing is...the paper is expensive too...plus the ink
what are the dimensions of the paper?

we could just do it on 8x11 and cut it down to size afterwards

we don't have to worry about ink since the guy has a continuous system and 100 copies wouldn't make a dent in the amount of ink that he has(another reason why we'd like to go through him)

http://www.newenglandcd.com/packages/retail-ready-pack.htm

probably some of the best local turn-around times and prices. I used to work here, and the stuff that comes out is top notch

it's much appreciated...but we worked out a deal with this guy a little while ago and it comes out awesome(the quality was mint except for the paper he used it on)

cutting down 8x10" paper sucks.

this is true but i'd rather spend time than money

we could also just get smaller paper, we're going to staples later today to see what they have but we were told that they probably don't have what we're looking for

but when it comes down to it, you'll be spending time for one that looks like shit.
or spend $$ for something that looks good.

you're gonna have to trust me on this one...it came out fine except for the paper it was on
