My name is ___. I'm the national booking agent for the Station venue in Portlnd, Maine. Recently I discovered that the band, Death Among Thieves, has been slandering me and my company. I have now banned them from playng The Station including the Shredding The Nation Tour date this sunday.
They need to learn that just because it isn't my show doesn't mean I can't get you banned for running your mouth about me. saying someone is a "crazybitch" and then saying you banned them from your club (which you obviously did) isn't slander. Slander is when someone says something that can be proven they knew was false like "Leigh Rush killed my father". All AJ is saying is that you and he had a falling out and he doesn't like you. It's not illegal, and it's not really that totally out of line if you think about it. I mean, you're pretty doing the same thing, only they are just putting it in their blog and hoping someone reads it, whereas you are going to message boards and soliciting people to dislike them, which seems a bit more harm-oriented if you ask me.
Now, going to random message boards and providing a call to arms...that seems to me like you've got something to prove, and it kind of weirds me out. I don't want to get involved, but I'm not seeing eye to eye with how and what you're doing with this.

We're just like picking on Maine because it started this whole thread. In reality, the one time we played up there we were in the FAR northeast of Maine miles from any indoor venue (or any life in general), but the 50 kids that were there to see us were VERY into it because no one ever came around there. One of them in particular got WAY into us, he said we were his favorite band and he even went on to dedicate his entire website to our photos and music. So I guess I can't bitch too much about our experiences in Maine.

The four local metal bands that this "Anonymous Poster" ( Come on have the nuts to put up a name) has grouped as NUMETAL has obviously never taken the time to listen to the Bands. Seeing that each band is a diffrent asspect of metal does not put them in the catagory of numetal. I know for a fact that the band Psyren does not even have any form of recorded material available to the public yet. I think if you are to label a band you should at least hear them to do so. anytime spent on a message board can be classified as "wasted time." and the maine metal scene dissed themselves by acting unprofessionally in the first place. if i was in the same situation as the guy in death among thieves who was filling in for that other band, i would have done the same thing because any decent musician who honors their own band would do that. imagine if you had to tell your band you had to cancel a show because you were doing a favor for someone else's band that you don't even like. think about it. it's fucking common sense, and very professional. if the maine metal scene had not threatened death among thieves, then there would be no use for harsh words said by the guy in DAT, but the maine metal scene fucked that up for themselves. so fuck off.

wow, this has gotten fucking crazy. however halarious and mostly beneficial to the band, the drama has gotten a little out of hand for us and we are pretty much just sick of hearing about it. what started out as a simple disagreement on whether i should play a show with my band or not has been blown way out of proportion and turned into a massive snowball of drama....and i hate drama.
For the record: the only posts we've put up are the ones with our name on it. We arnt going to waste our time like that. 13 Winters asked us to play a show they were putting on at the Station, which was wicked fun and we appreciate them getting/keeping us on the bill, but other than that, we've had no other association with them. The only beef we've had with Maine Metal Scene Presents is the voice-mail retorts she left which are quoted in the blog on our MySpace. That blog was never meant to be made quite as public as it became, just kinda a little rant to let off some steam.
this drama has been going on for longer than its worth, and its really not that big of a deal to us anymore. now apparently there is more drama involved that we were used to create, but we have nothing to do with it, and dont want to. I would much rather our band be known for our music and what we bring to the table than a bunch of bullshit.
In light of that, it would be sweet if we can just let the situation go. the minor disagreement happened months ago, and its time to let it be. i would like to offer a truce to the Maine Metal Scene, shit happens, whatever, we're over it. i hope you'll accept this truce or whatever it may be, and ill take off the blog from our MySpace, and hopefully we can work together in the future, and not against. music is hard because everyone has a different place they are coming from, and their own opinions on how it all should work. Obviously there are going to be some disagreements. We need to downsize the issue back to where it should be, and forget about it.
So, whoever may be right in this situation, whatever. hope you all have a good day, and please check us out on our MySpace or our website. We usually have some upcoming shows, so come out and see what we do, if not just for curiosity's sake.

I think the person who emailed me is just upset and spoke out of sorts. I have a solution to this thread that I will get to if I have time tonight. once I have investigated this post to convince myself that this was more than likely not her that posted this (I haven't even read this thread or the offending blog), I have a solution.
I would like to point out that it is alleged that Roy (of 13 winters) is the person who started this. He is also the person who apologized to carina via email after the flame war thread that was generated after an anonymous poster called her a monster or something like that. So far, I’ve looked at the account information and traced the first IP to saco maine.
Now, I think the only funny things that I see in this thread at all are my first post and when people say that they won’t return and then do.
