Dour is pronounced like sour with a d, and the cursiva part...you can either make the "I" sound like "ee" or "ih" so I guess, dour cur-see-va or dour cur-sih-va. Most of the guys in the band say the "ee" one, but frankly it don't matter. Dour means "harsh or solemn" and cursiva may or may not be a latin word that essentially just means "script or mark" So the short answer is that to us Dour Cursiva represents a harsh (or br00tal) mark we hope to leave behind. The drummer who just parted ways with us came up with it, we've been trying to justify it ever since..haha. |
