i keep trying to log in to the server space i have, and it keeps saying "the operation cannot be completed because one or more required items cannot be found." the guy who hooked me up with the server space just said to download some ftp client software. i've got all that, but apparently it's not enough. anyone got any ideas as to what i need now?

you could just ftp without software...see if that works first.

just do ftp://www.yourDomain.com

enter your user name and pw, then just drag and drop your files in there, or the dir. you want

You could get really basic about it and try to ftp through dos. Go to the start menu, go to run, enter "ftp", and do it manually. It's a pain in the ass having to type in every command and upload files one at a time, but if something as straightforwards and simple as dos ftp doesn't work, I would have to wonder if the problem wasn't on the server end. I'm just taking a shot in the dark here, though...

Ha, well then I'm useless, I don't know whether macs even use dos... (I think I'm still holding a subliminal grudge against the crappy macs we used to have in middle school in the 80's, because I've never tried a mac since).

why dont you contact the guy who set it up for you and have him tell you what is exactly wrong. if he cares about his clients at all he will take the time to help you. if he doesnt help, tell him to go fuck himself and get a new host.
