Dude at the Met threw a last minute afternoon slot at me, sort of a test for me I guess since so they can see if it does well before giving me a real night. I told Tom to get Nehek to come over and play because he didn't drag them to Box'o'Knifies.

TYAG~ what can i say about these yongins besides that i <3 them. Oh i know what else i can say...someone with Anthrax watched their set and thought they were kick a$$..so it's a good thing the Anthrax tour bus has TYAG stickers on it...heh
Invocation of Nehek~ they were the first band to arrive and drove from CT...awesome band, awesome set..i want Elyse to do some singing next time...
Shroud of Bereavement~ I feel like i am part of their extended family (ok so i'm cheesey..whatever)...unfortunately i had to run around during the beginning of their set (damn being a promoter can be stressful...lol) ..anyhow...they rocked the house!
Ascendancy~ too bad the bassist had to work, but they still hammed it up for the cameras...and heated up the Met and even outside the Met!

Beyond The Sixth Seal~ not only do they rock but they are comedians on stage too! =)
I loved every minute of the show and despite low attendance this was all for Aaron.

This was my first time booking/organizing a show
i wasn't doing it to make money (which is a good thing since i didn't make any hahaha). I just know how much the Rev loves going to shows and supporting the scene and I wanted to do something special for his birthday...and what else but putting on a show in his honor! I wish i could have had more time and could have gotten more of his fave bands to play.

Well first and foremost let me say HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON!!! i hope you enjoyed the day! we all had alot of fun. Huge thanks go out to rev to for constantly doing what he can to give back to the music he loves, I'm sure i speak for all the bands that played tonight, and all the bands you have photographed, Aired, or given feed back to, when i say thank you!!
Also HUGE thanks go too Carina!!! for setting this all up and getting everyone to pull together, definitely alot of fun was had by all. What a rad gift!!!!
Got to meet some peeps from the board, which was cool, it was our first time playing with these bands.
TYAG - was incredible!!!! Sick as fucking hell!! nice dudes to boot. hopefully we can hook up with those guys again. Thanks again for the bass gear!
Ascendancy - was fucking killer. fast fast fast fast, the going outside thing was very entertaining, i wonder if the dudes in anthrax saw terrance rocking out???
SOB - were very good, by this point my flu was developing and i was getting very tired so i had to sit, sorry i didn't stand guys, but i watched and it was very good!
BYSS - i almost thought i wasn't going to be able to see them!!! time was running thin, lucky it got taken care of,they were friggin awesome, their singer has the burliest vocals ever, i've been fan of theirs for a while now and it was awesome to finally see and play with them, and like carina said very funny as well.
All in all it was a great time, and we were more then happy to be a part of it. Thanks again to Carina, and Rev, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

well, thank you everyone that showed up. it's really nice that all those people did that for me and basically keep a secret from me for the whole 2 weeks. I thought it was really odd that a show popped up like that with out me knowing about it at all. Thank you to all the bands. Carina went through a lot of trouble (that she hide from me) and in the end, all the bands treated her really well too.
terminally your aborted ghost: they sounded really awesome. Actually, so good that I heard Anthrax loved them (or at least the sticker on their bus lead me to believe that). The set was so nice and tight. until the matt broke a string and they had to skip the last song. This once again shows that tyag on a good sound system sounds sick.
invocation of nehek: They started off with a dead bass... borrowed spalding's... but these guys just keep getting better. I remember the first time I saw them with the new singer and they were all stiff. Now, with the addition of the bassplayer (tim), they are playing awesome again and get the reaction from the crowd.
ascendancy: another sick set. I love watching kids in shock when seth goes off on his extended drum roll. I also heard that there's a picture in existence that actually shows seth's face while he's drumming. For the last song, terence and mike took a trip outside and played against anthrax's bus. There's a nice sequence of RustedAngel (tom) taking a picture of Mike (deodiummortis) and then showing it to robb (v1olenc3 & ION). you should check that out.
shroud of bereavement: they started/showed up a bit late, but still there set was great. Kell (kellthevalkyrie & the new female singer) was solo this night. Last night, I think she got drowned out by Jen (the old female singer). Tonight she came through so much better and looked more comfortable. They were still minus daryl, but if sounded really good on that sound system.
beyond the sixth seal: Rushing back from the Great Pumpkin day in Andover, Ma, they played a great set too. Recently, they played all over europe. Seeing them from the show in february to now, I notice a big change with them live (besides the missing guitar player). they have a lot more fun when they play. the bassist (greg) and the lead singer (mike aka gunface) talked a bunch of shit back and forth to each other, mostly about shit. I thought it was funny.

Terminally Your Aborted Ghost: Sounded good, and rocked it pretty hard even though there weren't many people there.
Invocation of Nehek: these guys already know what I think about them, they suck... just kidding. They are all my buds and I fuckin love all of em even if they played ben folds five covers. They kicked ass, sounded real good over a real PA.
Ascendancy: Some people probably can't really get into them, which is understandable physically.. they are just so fast an intense every damn time. Short the bass player tonight unfortunately, he seems like a cool kid and is fun to watch. I fuckin love watching these guys.
SOB: Arrived late unfortunately, first time seeing them live, they are good at what they do.. really slow stuff, kind of hard to handle on a cloudy sunday.
Beyond the Sixth Seal: SOB took up a lot of BTSS's set time by being late, and playing for 45 minutes which kind of sucked, but good thing btss had till 6:30 so 15 minutes to play basically. Second time seeing them live, the vocals kicked ass. 2nd guitar player missing which is kind of a drag for that style of music.
Overall good show, lame turnout considering how many bands rev takes pictures of that could have shown up but didn't, even if they weren't playing. 8^( HAPPY B-day REV!

the rev has been helping me post my pics and i'm still about 10 shows behind...i will have everything up soon though.
