DISSECTION
Official website: "www.dissection.nudissection" http://www.dissection.nu
DISSECTION singer/guitarist Jon Nödtveidt announced in an exclusive interview segment with fans only on the band's website forum, titled 'An Interview by the Fans for The Fans,' that the band has come to a close.

The band had two shows planned in North America this fall:
Sept 1: Los Angeles (USA), House of Blues Sunset Strip
Sept 6: New York City (USA), B.B. King Blues Club
After continued de! lays via the US Immigration Services, vocalist and guitarist Jon Nödtveidt has been denied legal entry into the United States. The reason being his previously prison sentence from 1998. The band was supposed to play two stateside concerts, at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on September 1st and the BB King's in New York on September 6th.”
About the shows being cancelled, Nödtveidt states: "We knew from the beginning that there was a risk that I might be denied entry into the US because of my past but we (the band and the agencies involved) were prepared to take that risk. It's very unfortunate for everybody involved; the fans, the band and its representatives as well as the promoters. I have served my time and we wer! e really looking forward to these final gigs. To our American fans: In spite of everything; see you in spirit! Fuck the Law! Chaos Forever!"
The band recently released their album ‘Reinkaos’ on THE END RECORDS.

Official website: http://www.giantsquidmusic.com
On their debut album Metridium Fields surfacing for THE END RECORDS on August 22nd, 2006 Austin-based quintet GIANT SQUID submerges themselves into a sonic realm of epic fuzz tones saturated in analog synthesizer sounds, giving way to delicate breaks of clean tranquility. Bizarre song titles referring to marine life and historical tragedies are the norm as the band’s cinematic soundscapes are so! aked with imagery of nautical desolation and mountainous solitude.

NOVEMBERS DOOM

UNEXPECT

Official website: http://www.unexpect.com

Montreal’s UNEXPECT debut for THE END RECORDS is an explosive mish-mash of musical prowess. The album, titled ‘In A Flesh Aquarium,’ see the band skillfully blend classical music, black metal, technical prowess and a hyperactive stage show fueled by chaos and a monstrous 9-string bass. Think Cirque du Soleil goes black metal, amidst an acid-trip version of The Dark Crystal. Crazy stuff but well worth investigating, mon amis!

"The bar for avant-garde & progressive metal just got raised folks." Sea Of Tranquility

VIRGIN BLACK
Official website: http://www.virginblack.com
THE END RECORDS offers an update on the forthcoming releases from Australia's VIRGIN BLACK.
Given the unorthodox nature of Virgin Black's current obsession - a series of three Requiems, questions have understandably been coming thick and fast on all manner of details. Most prevalent is the question pertaining to potential release schedules and with all three albums nearing completion the crucial parties have seen fit to impart a certain amount of clarity.
The three albums will be released on a slightly staggered time scale beginning with Requiem - mezzo forte, the second in the series, followed by Requiem - fortissimo the last in the series and an album of intense heaviness.
The first in the series, an all classical affair, Requiem - pianissimo will be the final release. The parade of albums will begin first thing in the Ne! w Year with tours to follow. We wait with bated breath.

What the critics are saying about KATORZ:
“Propulsive and swinging, devoid of egotism and ugliness… ‘Katorz’ shows up most extreme metal for the fool's cartoon that it is. 4/5” – Chuck Eddy, SPIN
“If ‘Katorz’ is the band's last work — and it's a credit to modern recording technology that we have it at all — then it's a fitting testament to a fallen metal soldier and a worthy goodbye for one of heavy music's most original and distinctive bands.” – Don Kaye, BLABBERMOUTH
"Sorrow checkered with jubilance... Piggy is alive and triumphant as his dear mates assemble, orbiting around his prowess, a record that swims and swings, an unfolding gem of an experience that rocks with chemistry and esoteric Voivodian thought while alienating nobody." – Martin Popoff, BW&BK
"Katorz is an amazing return to form by Canada's greatest metal export. A quintessential rele! ase that does the dearly departed Piggy proud." - Sean Palmerston, EXCLAIM!
“Katorz is a surprisingly spontaneous and raw album, full of dark detours and explosive, defiant vitality—a deafening epitaph to Piggy, Voivod's fallen visionary.” – Rob Hughes, UNRESTRAINED!
"Voivod has never been an immediate band, and this album is proof of that. There are no catchy choruses or pop-ladden melodies here, simply the hard-work and sweat of one of the most respected bands in metal history." - CDReviews.com
